'Twas two nights before Christmas, and all through the state,

No Tiger was sleeping (I'm sure you can relate);

Lil' Debbie's were set on his porch with care,

In hopes that St. Nick would soon stay there;

The Trojans were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of Crystal danced in their heads;

With Crawfish and tirk missing, and I in my cap,

I decided to get up to take a short nap,

When out in the front there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like Addai,

Tore open the curtains and looked up to the sky.

The Christmas lights on the house, and all through the lawn

Made my front yard look like it was dawn,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

The Tiger starting Defense. They were all here!

With a drive of energy, so strong and so quick,

I knew in a moment they were with St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his players did came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Wroten! now, Prude! now, Williams and Turner!

On, Landry! on Spears! on, Daniels and Webster!

To the front of the porch! and on up to the wall!

Now crash through! crash through! crash through it all!"

So into the house, the players they flew,

Pulling a sleigh full of trophies, and St. Nick too.

And then, in a twinkling, I saw in my room

A great Tiger (Mike V) in my house did roam.

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,

Through the downed wall St. Nick came with a bound.

Dressed in purple and gold, from his head to his shoes,

And his name was all tarnished from the forsaken news;

A bundle of trophies he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

I looked at him thinking he'd leave moments sooner,

"I prefer the smell of roses, not the rotten one of Tuna.

These Miami Dolphins, they have little to give,

You Tigers, I've decided, are all I need to live,

Winning seasons, great fans, and tasty food at the least,

Every meal that I eat it is simply a feast;

Terry loves it here, and I can't blame her,

She'll have my head if I consider any longer.

A conference will be held tomorrow,

You now know my answer, no more need for sorrow."

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He sprang to his Ford, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all ran like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, as he flew out of here,

"Merry Christmas to y'all, and I'll see you next year!"
