stack the box with 8 & 9 men and force LSU to throw ... AU will commit to stop the run on first down ... AU will NOT give up the long pass ... AU will give up the short pass and lay back in coverage Go check any Barner newspaper ... he's been quoted ... :dis: LSU can pass on first and second down all night long and make clowns of these guys ... we bombed 'em heavy and early with the deep pass last year ... opened up the running attack ... and we blew 'em away 31-7 ... stifling Dee and a cheap score kept it from being a shutout. AU simply does not have the speed to hang with LSU's skilled players ... there are several mismatches to be exploited ... especially with a loaded dee line and soft coverage ... :hihi: Tubby's "new" bend but don't break philosophy :dis: What the homer doesn't see is that LSU can break the long play on a short pass ... Tubby stacks the line and tries some OSU strategy ... LSU will score points until he stops ... it's that simple
The difference is that when we do it to them stack 8 men on the line there probably still gonna try and run because they cant pass for shat but we're gonna play action when they do it and burn them deep with bowe, green and davis.
If this is really what is on his mind he is the dumbest coach in the SEC. :dis: Did he watch the passing game against ASU. Does he not figure that this team will throw the ball even better next week. A short pass is exactly what saban want get the ball to your play makers. :thumb: Bowe is one and others will show up. Addi is showing to be at the levelhe was prior to his injury. :thumb: This could end up being a shalacking.
If you're relying on your performance against a SunBelt team to give you a yardstick for your passing game, then you should get ready for disappointment. The Auburn defense is a smidge better than Ark. St. No doubt, LSU is a very talented and well-coached team, but a mediocre performance against a team that got blown out by Boise St. and a smacking of a SunBelt cellar dweller shouldn't be the basis for unreasonable expectations. I expect the AU/LSU game to be a tight, hard fought game. I doubt it will be a blow out either way.
I think this will be a great game of coaching. I personally think we have the 1 up on that. None the less this will be a good close game.
If Randall starts, then yes I would do exactly what Tubby stated he is gonna do. Randall can't complete a pass to save his life. This should speed up the exit of Randall in the game and bring in Russell. Then you will see a REAL offense on the field.
as much as I have to agree with an auburn fan, wesfau, I have to say this board is now littered with over confident posters who need a serious reality check. funny how these same posters like to defend the SEC agaisnt other conferences by saying every SEC game is tough no matter who you play. now, these same guys want you to believe that LSU will dominate its SEC brethren. there's a reason LSU has only been installed a 2 pt favorite. it's probably gonna be a close game. and like the AU fan said, a blowout of Ark St. don't mean crap! we still have a green QB who has yet to play an SEC road game. this team has a long way to go before we start chalkin' up SEC road victories. wake up people!
While I agree that LSU fans have no reason to be over confident, AU's wins over NLU and MSU are not exactly measuring sticks of the rich and famous. I'll wager this though: Oregon State would beat Mississippi State and Arkansas State would beat Northeast La.
