Anyone notice a trend is LSU sports as of late?... Football: hail mary pass beats us in last play of cap one bowl game. #4 on all time college games... Baseball: Can't finish some of their games/series when they should have. Stupid errors. People calling for Smoke's head already... Coach Laval doesnt have a "feel" for the team just yet... Basketball: on a good winning streak, almost beating kentucky, and then flaking out on UAB... Many actually calling for brady's whole body to be burned at the stake... W. Basketball: Stopped caring after giving up a 15 point lead...Blowing the game to baylor...of all teams... The same team we beat earlier this season.. Man.. I can't wait till the CWS and then even more so, Football season to start... things have not been so good as of late... Someone convince me that things will get better.... Comments? Questions? Answers? Death threats?
first of all, smokes a great coach. Errors killed us today, not coaching. He's alot more fan-friendly than that ***hole skip was. and brittany jackson is officially the hottest girl to ever play college basketball!!!! :thumb:
even though this is the second thread of mine to get hi-jacked... I would definetly have to agree with you...
I would not say they blew the Baylor game...Baylor is that good, bottom line. Baylor came back from 20 points the first time the teams played this season and almost won. Mulkey-Robertson had a great game plan with the zone and quite honestly out coached Pokey fromt the end of the first half on. Nothing against Pokey, but she is young in terms of coaching and will learn to win these games in the future. Congrats Baylor. as for the Cap One bowl......you cannot blame a blown coverage on our coaching. Sh!t happens, people get lucky. we did against Kentucky on a Hail Mary.....what goes around comes around. baseball...the season is still young. chill out. the world is not ending, and I do not buy into trends. have a good night!
whew... thanks for calming me down... Its just been a series of dissapointments. But you don't see me calling for anyones head, unlike some people... :dis:
Like Skip has said, this is the Golden era of LSU sports. When you make a lot of playoff's, championship events or games, have top notch programs, etc. you are going to have some major disappointements. I am loving it myself. Of course I wish we would win all of the championships but I'd have to say as a University we are making some great runs in athletics. And I've never been able to cheer for so many Tigah teams in so many important games in my long time as a Tiger fan.
I disagree that things have not been good for your teams as of late. While baseball appears to be in a bit of a slump compared to the glory years of LSU baseball, every othe rprogram looks to be headed in the right direction. The women had a great year, capped off with an appearance in the Final Four, where upsets are not uncommon, football is in good shape with Miles being the X-factor this year, in my opinion. Men's basketball is better, especially late in the season when it matters. The UAB game wasn't an indication of how they played the last month of the season. Plus UAB was a tourney tested team that plays an up tempo style that is difficult to beat most of the time. I wish Auburn could have been so bad in basketball this year. When things are going well, disappointments will happen. As long as fans are ticked off about losing in playoffs and championship events, overall the situation must be good. You could like Alabama fans and be content to go to the Music City Bowl and loss to your biggest rival by less than 10...
