zorba's is good, they have the pita bread chips. in general i think baton rouge has the best greek options of any town.

    (i typoed podnuh's)

they have shrimp toast on the buffet at great wall. it is sort of like french toast, except instead of egg in the toast they have some sort of shrimp in there. possibly chinese magic.

I have never ordered a crawfish pie in a restaurant but Pat's in Henderson serves a good mini pie on their crawfish platter. Fortunately I know how to make a fantastic C-Pie.

Very true. Last year I went to some little Mex place in a strip mall in Houston. I had a beer, 3 top shelf margaritas and a great platter that had about 8 diffenent things with it (tacos, enchaladas, chile releno, chile con queso, and a lot of other stuff. My lady friend dosen't much like Mexican food but she had a huge taco salad and drank 3 or 4 top shelf Margaritas. The bill before tip was $30 and the food was outstanding. A couple of weeks later I went to Casa Maria in Baton Rouge by myself and ordered some kind of platter that had not nearly as much food as the one in Houston and wasn't nearly as good. I drank one beer and one top shelf margarita. It was $40!!:dis:  :dis:

It has been months and its still an empty lot so I don't think they are planning on rebuilding. It is not spelled "poduh's. You should buy an N and stick it in there somewhere.

I love Chinese Buffets! :thumb: Last week I discovered the Red Flower on Highland Road north of LSU. CRAWFISH turned me on to it. (Yes, strange as it might sound I actually know CRAWFISH and his secret identity and not just as a disembodied typer of text on an internet message board.)
The Red Flower noon buffet is only $5. Thats it. Not even sales tax. Really good fried chicken wings and some kind of Chinese boiled shrimp thats pretty good.

this place can't be good for anyone's health or waistline. 5 bucks flat and all that food. I'm not even gonna attempt it.

Chinese food is full of all kind of veggies. That makes it heathy. You can eat as much Chinese food as you want and you get a free pass in the health and waistline departments. Chinese calories have been proven to be good for you.
Chinese calories work in reverse of Cajun, Italian and Mexican calories.

lol I dont think the chinese food at those buffets arewhat the chinese are actually eating. all that fried pork and fried mandarin chicken is just too good yet you see the workers on break eating plain white rice.

I'll pass on the white rice.
