MMM MMM MMM Just thinking of those crawfish have my mouth watering... I used to work for Tony's back when I had to take a semester off from LSU and, even though the times were strenuous, I loved the people and atmosphere. I, however, did not like smelling of fish coming home. Tony's has the best muffaleta I have ever tasted and they are huge for the price. Anybody else have experiences with Tony's? The Pizzolato's are a great family...they do a lot for the community.
There is a Tony's in Lake Charles which has been there forever and two days. A staple in the SW LA dining scene. A truly missed commodity having been there and not had it in soooo long. Nice post.
My uncle's sister-in-law is married to one of the Pizzolatos (Tony's brother), and they are very nice. When we attended this sister-in-law's 50th anniversary party back in '05, Tony's provided most of the food. It was incredible--I'd never seen so much fried catfish in one place; needless to say, it was delicious.
I went to high school at Redemptorist right across Plank Road from Tony's. Mr. Tony, when he was alive, would sponsor our summer league baseball teams and was a regular at most of the games. We used to go to Tony's after practice and he always hooked us up with etoufee or some fried catfish from the deli. We would have our end of the season parties at Mr. Tony's camp on the false river and of course he provided us with all we could eat or drink. Truly a classy individual as are all of the Pizzolato's!
Man, the smell of the crawfish when you drive up there is just nuts! Makes me drool. They are a great family. Very generous people. :geauxtige
