I listened to an intrview on 870 AM with Tommy Moffit on Saturday morning, and he said Keiland Williams ran the 40 in 4.3 sec flat weighing about 228 lbs. He also said Richard Murphy has the most room as far as RB goes to develop his body. Moffit was very pleased with the team's progress in the weight room.

No offense to Tommy, who I'm sure believes that time to be accurate, but there is no way KW is that fast. IMO it's pretty much impossible.

Impossible is such a strong word.

He may have been lighter at this point in time, but still, it's possible.

no it's pretty much impossible... world class sprinters in spikes, running against other world class sprinters, being timed electronically and not by hand RARELY cross the 40m mark under 4.5.

btw I'm not hating on KW. Keiland is a gifted athlete and a great player. Forty times have just become ridiculously important and are generally BS.

Oh, you mean technically. If what you say is correct then yes it is impossible. But since football combines\coaches use hand timers, it's all relative.

Moffit said they have specifically been working on speed and acceleration for the last month. So, it is very possible to improve 2 tenths of a second after a month of training.

Two more things. Moffit said Alley Broussard was doing fine. He also said Alley had severe tendonitis last year, and at times Alley though his knee cap was going to pop off from the severe inflammation.

The second thing is that Glen Dorsey is doing fine. Moffit is limiting the amount of weight he has been squating and power cleaning, but that is just for cautionary reasons. He seems to be close to 100%.

I don't know about all that. I have no proof, but it's been rumored that Trindon Holliday ran a 4.29 40. Given his perfomance at the over the weekend (10.8 100), I tend to believe he has the ability to run a sub-4.3 40

I heard Addai popped a 4.37 at a Colt workout.

I can always throw out Bo's 4.12, but I believe the fastest ever electronic was Maurice Greene at 4.21.

You have to take 40-yard dash times with a grain of salt.. basically if Keiland ran a 4.3 then it just shows he's blazing fast, even if that isn't entirely the accurate time. Then again, no NFL or college 40 time is accurate.

Here's a great article (albeit 2 years old) detailing why.. a must read.
