Brad Edwards just mentioned Miami-OH possibly passing USC in a couple of the computers. I just looked and see that they're 4th in 2 of the computers behind USC at 3rd. How can they pass USC to get 3rd in those 2 and how huge of an impact would that be?
I do not project Miami OH beating Bowling Green would propel Miami OH past USC in either of these 2 polls unfortunately. If they did, it would be tremendous. This would force USC to throw out the first #4 ranking (you throw out your highest score). They would then be forced to keep the other #4 ranking. This means .01666 added to their score. This would really open up the door for LSU. In this case, the only scenario that leaves LSU in 3rd in the BCS would be a Bowling Green, Syracuse AND Boise State loss. This is not going to happen. Being #4 in one of the 2 polls has no affect whatsoever, since this would be the score that USC would drop.
