After the game I had several Bama fans, students and older fans, tell me what a great band we have. You guys do a great job and are the best there is. Just wanted to pass that bit of praise along from some classy Bama fans. :lsug:
I love our band and make it a point to check them out for the walk down the hill every home game, but I heard there was no "Hey Baby" after the Bama win. What happened?
TigerBand trumpet here...., Yeah, I was sitting on the end next to the Alabama fans and several of them told me that they loved TigerBand. ..We usually do play "Hey Baby" after wins, but sometimes it differs, if it's a really, really close game and we pull it out , we'll sit there and play for about 30 minutes after the game. However, I seem to notice, (but this is not official) that whenever we slaughter a team in an opposing stadium, we'll play for our fans for maybe 10-15 minutes then play "Let us Break Bread" then sing the Alma Mater.. I think sometimes the directors don't want to rub our slaughter in and play in their stadium all night..
Luckydog, isn't their a SEC rule on the amount of time a band can play in a visitors stadium after a game?
Thanks a lot guys! It means so much to us that you really enjoy us! I came from a HS where you didn't say you were in the band because that was considered nerdy. The responses I get from people now is nothing like I had ever imagined. About playing after the game... I don't know if there is a rule on how long we are able to play. Usually, the directors are just ready to go. They can tell if we're getting tired (or they are) and ready to leave. Sorry if y'all wanted more. There is a rule about when we can play during the game. We can't play while the teams are playing, i.e. as soon as they break the huddle, we have to stop. And when we're at home, if promotions wants to do a PA we can't play while they're doing one. BTW, remember when we won the Sudler Trophy (the Heisman of college marching bands) in 2001. Bama was the latest recipient of it.
Hey band members... I sit in the south end zone each home game... I'm ground level in the row in front of that purple concrete wall that separates us from the visiting band and fans usually. We absolutely LOVE it when you guys come to our end zone and play at the end of a half-time performance, like you guys did for the Auburn game. When you guys kicked into the pre-game song (at halftime) in front of us (and the Auburn band and fans) it was awesome! Please suggest doing that more often!
Tigerband rocks...bottom line. The greatest thing in the world is pregame and the end of the third quarter. If I could bottle that emotion up and sell it, I would be a rich man indeed. Keep up the good work Tigerband members!
Tiger Band .. I was very upset when you didnt make the AZ game that would have made my whole year. Anyway I have been watching all the games on TV and you sound very good and very loud. It is great my 8 year old daughter loves when you play Geaux Tigers, and when LSU scores she does the T I G E R S ...Tigers. Keep up the good work. YOu should put out a video of you and the team coming down the hill before home games.
