this was posted by a Greenie on another board. Boofrickenhoo! quote: I was there last night and, as has become my life, I lived and died with each pitch. At the end, I felt as though my heart was in a thousand pieces. We went to the bus, crying the whole way, to let our team know that we still loved them and that we were still very proud of them. I wondered if they would speak at all or just quietly board the bus. They came out one by one wearing their hearts on their sleeves. You could see the pain in their eyes. But instead of jumping on the bus and leaving, they patiently signed autographs for kids and took the time to shake hands and hug fans. They thanked us for being with them all year. More than one apologized and said they felt like they let us down. Through tears I hugged them all and told them that to the end, I was glad to be a Wave fan and that I loved them no less after the game than before. These are young men who are heroes to young boys and girls alike for what they do on the field and in the classroom. Last night showed once again the true meaning of sportsmanship and dignity which each and every one of our young men possess. I look forward to the future of Tulane baseball and will never forget Bogey, Joe (I believe in you), Matt, our Captain, Scottie, Tommy, our hometown boy, and most of all Greg Dini who somehow flew under my radar all year. I knew he was a gifted catcher who would be hard to replace but I did not realize that he was the heart of the team behind the scenes. I did not know that he wove the rope that symbolized each man pulling his own weight and I didn't know that he was such a force in the players only meetings. The hug he gave me last night and the words, "Thank you for everything. I know you've been there all year. I'll never forget you all" is something I will never forget. And watching him walk down the field after the game, hugging each team mate was a moment in time that is etched in my memory forever. I have not mentioned Micah because I am hoping against hope that he will take the field next year in our new stadium wearing green. I encourage everyone in New Orleans to be at the Wilson Center when these guys get home. They need us now more than ever. After all, they have given us so very much.
I guess this is a result of Tulane actually having a nationally recognized sports team. LSU has teams in multiple sports that are among the best in the nation. I guess we should feel blessed when compared to Tulane!!
Why were they going to the bus? I'm sure there's a practice field somewhere around Rosenblatt for them to learn how to throw to first. I hate it when fans like this idiot refer to every player by their first name. Like they're best friends with them. I wish I could see Roger, Lance, Craig, Willy, Morgan, Adam, Jason, Brad and Orlando play today.
This kinda crap is truly pathetic. Yea, I'm sure the players REALLY hope that some losers with nothing better to do are there to welcome them home from their failure.
Too easy to flip to the SS....the 2B wanted to be the hero of the game and get the last out but he became the goat and got the last Error of the game and season:cry: . Smooth move!:thumb:
