From the opening game against ULM the Tigers have gotten better and better each game with a couple of exceptions. Game 4 against Georgia was the first real test of how good this team might be and they stepped up to the plate and beat a very good team in a close game and followed that up with a total domination of a bad Moo U team. In the Tigers 6th game the defense played a decent game but the offense was flat as a pancake and we lost. Maybe the loss to Florida was a wake up call or maybe not but from that game on the Tigers rolled through the schedule with dominating efforts on both offense and defense and continued to build momentum from week to week. Then in game 11 after having the same 5 game win streak they had prior to the Florida game the offense came out flat against a very pumped up Ole Miss team playing the biggest game in 30 years for the Rebels. The defense took it up another notch and even with a poor performance by the offense the Tigers prevailed. Looking back it looks like the offense has an off game after every 5 games. It looked for a while in the 1st quarter like the defense was going to take the day off against Arkansas but the offense returned to form and then the D put their Steel Curtain game faces back on and shut down the Pigs until the backups gave up a meaningless TD late in the game.

If the pattern of one poor game by the offense every 6th game holds true the season will be over before they have another day off. The Tiger team that beat Georgia in Tiger Stadium on Week 4 of the season was a very good team facing their first real competition against another very good but not great UGA team. The Tiger football team after being battle tested for 12 games now borders on greatness. They have run the gauntlet of a brutal SEC schedule to emerge as one of only three teams in Division 1A to have only one loss or less. The Dawg team the Tigers will face Saturday night in the Georgia Dome is also a much better team than the UGAlys who lost in Tiger Stadium and they are healthy again with Fred Gibson back. Its tough to beat a good team once in a season much less twice. I'm sure that Mark Richt has gone over the first game tapes over and over trying to adjust to the multiple blitz packages that made David Greenes day a nightmare in the last encounter. He and his assistants have spent countless hours viewing the tapes of what Florida did. I keep hearing that the Dawgs might go to a no huddle offense to try to keep LSU from running substitutes in and out of the game the way they do. I'm also pretty damn certain that Nick Saban will not have exactly the same defensive game plan this time around. On the offensive side of the ball Matt Mauck has gained incredible confidence in himself and his receivers. He was tentative for most of the first game and LSU had not at that time established just who the go to receivers were going to be other than Clayton and Henderson. The Tigers attack now can utilize Edwards, Davis and Jones with a lot more effectiveness now than then when they were basically untried. The running attack then had only Addai and Carey. We now have 5 RBs all with different skills, from Justin Vincent's ability to make something out of nothing with his shiftiness and ability to utilize his blockers both on the run and when he catches short passes to Alley Broussard's grim determination to fight for every extra yard and refusal to go down. Alley has been missing the last couple of games but I hear he is back to 100% health and ready to go.

One game at a time, as Nick Saban preaches, we have watched a team predicted to go 9-3 or 8-4 grow into a cohesive unit that is capable of winning the National Championship (Not to get ahead of myself, the SECCG will be a game of brutal physicallity) Its time to turn it up a few more notches and show the 3rd or 4th best team in college football just who's boss and who their Daddy is. The Tigers will be playing a team who could beat USC, Michigan, Ohio State, or Texas but probably not Oklahoma. LSU is a team that is capable of beating anybody, including the OU team the talking heads think us invincible. They may get that chance or they may be screwed by the Bullcrap Championship Series. Either way and whatever happens the first task is for every man to play every play for 60 minutes against the Dawgs with total focus and white hot intensity. No silly encroachment or drive killing illegal motion penalties. Nobody losing it and getting a 15 yard penalty for a cheap shot or a late hit. No fumbles or dropped passes. Nobody missing a block or letting their man get open for long gainers. I haven't heard anybody talking about this but I have a feeling that we just might see Michael Clayton come in at D Back in certain situations. He just might be the best D Back in the SEC even though he dosen't play the position too often. All the marbles are on the line and its time to pull out all the stops. Like everybody else I'm hoping the Tigers end up playing Oklahoma for the NC in the Sugar Bowl but first we have to beat the real #3 team in the NCAA. I hpe the team is as pumped up about it as I am. I hope they make USC fans like Jim Rome who say that LSU will lose to Georgia eat their words.

ROMEY, TREV, KIRK, MARK - I'M GOING TO SEND YOU ALL A BOX OF TONY CHACHERIES CAJUN SEASONING TO SPRINKLE ON THE WORDS THAT THE TIGERS ARE GOING TO SHOVE DOWN YOUR THROATS!!

When you are ranked #3 at the end of the regular season you couldn't fly a Stealth Bomber under the radar. Everybody knows who the Tigers are. They might be giving more respect to Rodney Dangerfield than they do to LSU but they know who LSU is whether they like it or not. Even Herbstreit and Rome talked about how it was unfair that the BCS dosen't give credit for beating the same team twice but then they followed it up by predicting that Georgia would win anyway so the BCS would put USC in the Sugar Bowl. I especially would like to force feed Mark May his statement that USC would beat LSU by 3 touchdowns. Too bad that there is no playoff for LSU to play USC in the semifinals. I would take that 21 points and bet Mark May everything I own and mortgage my house for that bet. I started this thread to focus on Georgia and the SECCG (first things first, one game at a time) but every time I think about how the Tigers could beat Georgia and be the Champs of the toughest conference and still get F*CKED out of playing OU in the Sugar Bowl while the surfer dude wine sipping USC fans sneak out of the Superdome at halftime when the Trojans are blowing it big time it takes my blood to the boiling point. It dosen't matter. I'm a fan and I won't be on the artificial turf of the Georgia Dome. As long as the players are focused on the Dawgs and not looking ahead to OU and what might be the Tigers will rip that bone right out of the Mutts mouths. Come Saturday night around 10:30 or so there will be no joy in the junkyard for whipped puppies with their tails between their legs.

The last game I got halfway to the Stadium and stopped at a convieniece store. Was checking my truck to make sure I had everything - grill, charcoal, steaks, ice chest, beer, ect. Then I had to turn around and go back to the house. I had left my game face in the dryer.

Damn, I hate when that happens................

One time my game face was undergoing some minor plastic surgery....and I was really worried that the wounds wouldn't heal in time for the next game......you see I made sure it was a bye week so that I had 2 weeks for my game face to heal up. It turned out ok though....

LSU is gonna win handily here ... This Greene character and GA's offense just doesn't get the job done ... look at the PROOF ... in the SEC stats. Don't listen to the Worry Warts in this forum predicting all but an LSU loss.

Fun Fact #1 .... this one is the best .... Mr. Greene leads the SEC in NEGATIVE YARDAGE RUSHING ... BY AN ABSOLUTE FREAKING RUNAWAY MARGIN ... -132 yards .... This one is a MYSTERY! How the hell did he get there ... snickering while watching replay of LSU vs GA 2003 ... that poor bastid is picking himself up after another vicious hit ... #92, LOL ... did you get the # on that truck?

Fun Fact #2 .... this QB has passed for 9TDs in 12 games ... an astounding figure considering 8 interceptions to go with that. His passing efficiency is in the gutter of the SEC rankings. And, these GA pukes come into this forum and talk 27 points against LSU, their scoring average this year. After they play us twice they may score 27 ... then, maybe not.

Fun Fact #3 .... the vaunted GA Offense ... especially the passing game is absolute freaking fiction ... and GA leads the league in Field Goals ... 27 of 'em ... because their IMPOTENT OFFENSE folds during crunch time in the red zone. 3 FGs per every TD ... a joke

Fun Fact #4 .... GA's receiving corps are near the bottom of the list ... for obvious reasons above ... none of their receivers catches 4 passes a game or has more than 50 yards per game ... weak as piss. Fred Gibson is overrated as hell ... 1 TD in 9 games

I give up ... it ain't fun anymore ... getting boring typing this shit
    5 .... LSU Rushes 179/gm, GA 144/gm

    6 .... LSU allows below 70 rushing, GA 90/gm

7 .... LSU leads almost every damned worthwhile statistical
category in the SEC ... except FGs ... See Fun Fact #3 ... and don't cite passing dee yardage ... their passing efficiency defense is behind LSU's. Really look at the numbers ... GA is ALL SMOKE & MIRRORS ON OFFENSE

    http://www.nola.com/lsu/spnet.ssf?/default.asp?c=advance&page=cfoot/stat/sec-Notebook.htm

Las Vegas hasn't a clue ... either. They set the line using scoring offense less scoring defense ... LSU 24, GA 17 ... less a few points for home field advantage ... LSU -3.

I'm really looking forward to the LSU Offense getting some RESPECT ... and a very BIG WIN. It ain't gonna be close.

Bumping this one back up. Maybe it will help getting our game faces on. Its 1 AM and I don't know if the LSU players are so pumped up that they can't sleep in their hotel rooms in Atlanta but I am pumped up and can't fall asleep in my own bed in Baton Rouge. Most of the talk this week has been more about the BCS than about the rematch with Georgia. Win and we can only cross our fingers and hope that the football gods are smiling on the Tigers. Lose and all the talking the talk won't mean jacksh*t if we can't walk the walk. The Dawgs are the third best team in the NCAA. My ranking, not the AP, ESPN or the BCS. They are better than USC, Michigan or Texas. LSU has played some fantastic football recently but they haven't played the perfect breakout game they are capable of. NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT! This is the most important game LSU has played in 30 or 40 years. Correct me if you can think of a game that meant more. The 2001 SECCG was a huge breakthough but the expectations for the Tigers were nothing compared to what they are now. David Greene said that the Oct. 4 game in Tiger Stadium was the most physical game he had ever been in. Get ready for another beating David. Tiger-Dawg War II starts at 7 PM. Saban has talked about the necessity for complete domination. The Tigers have totally dominated some teams this year for a quarter, a half and even for three quarters. What I want to see now is SHOCK AND AWE ON EVERY SINGLE PLAY FOR 60 MINUTES!!!!!!

I gotta say first that the national sports media (ESPN CBS MSNBC etc) do not give the SEC the respect we deserve even when talking about the SECCG. The winner (LSU) is poised to be possibly the most dominating team come bowl time. as for OU ,Stoops is a good coach and a great recruiter/motivator (wish he were still at UF) and the Sooners deserve to be in the hunt for the NC. With that said, LSU is the only team with the stones to give them a game in January. It is a true injustice and just plain disrespect from the polls if the Tigers after beating the crap out of the UGAlies don't get the chance to represent the SEC for the prize.

    LSU 34 -uga 17 (I hate Georgia)
