I didn't say anything about isolation did I? I think our thinking should be to take care of America first. I don't think we should care about what the rest of the world thinks, we should do whats right for America. There are plenty of countries that continually do things behind our backs because its in their countries interest or they don't like us regardless of what we do. Other countries do this but not us, we want to kiss Mexicos and everyone elses butt? I don't get it?:nope:
America also couldn't survive acting like a bunch of pu$$ie$, worried about what other countries might think about what we do. You really do live in a dream world, my friend.
I just said we couldn't survive if we say F#$% the rest of the world? Where did I say we could only survive acting like a bunch of p@##$%^? I'm sorry you military type feel the only way to deal with anything is the use of force.
Where did I say the only way to deal with anything is the use of force? Yeah, nowhere. I'm talking about protecting our interests, first and foremost, and doing so without worrying about what other countries may think about how we do it. Unfortunately in this day and age, sometimes the only way to deal with things is through the use of force, after all other means have been exhausted. Of course, I'm going to support that notion, because it means good job security for me. :thumb: I'm sorry you can't comprehend why "we military type" feel that way. It's a warfighting spirit that is engrained in our heads from day one. Without it we couldn't survive on the battlefield.
We all saw how negotiations and all the UN inspections/talks worked with Saddam Hussein... Oh wait, they DIDN'T. Couldnt agree more with your post Devil.
Actually, they worked pretty well. UNSCOM destroyed thousands of tons of chemical weapons during the 10-year Iraqi sanctions period. By the time Saddam evicted the inspectors, they had gotten everything, as evidenced by Bush's complete failure to find any chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons or active development programs in Iraq after his invasion. And the UN inspectors, including Scott Ritter the chief US inspector, all warned us that we would find no WMD's in Iraq. It is an established fact that the decade of sanctions and inspections of Iraq in the 1990's destroyed existing chemical weapons and confirmed that there were no nuclear or biological weapons programs any where close to viability.
Red, thanks for the info. but I still felt the need to back up a marine's comment oh well. :geauxtige
I totally thought this thread was going to be about Bush. While it is not proper to talk about the assasination of a current sitting President (especially one your support), has it not crossed everyone's mind that Bush has a bullseye on his head? Even when Mr. Pussy Clinton was in office, I remember a couple of people trying to shoot him. One was in a stadium I think? Does it surprise anyone that nothing major has been attempted on W?
Bill Clinton October 29, 1994: Francisco Martin Duran fired at least 29 shots with a semi-automatic rifle at the White House from Pennsylvania Avenue, outside the south lawn, thinking that Clinton was among the men in dark suits standing there. (Clinton was in the White House Residence watching a football game.) No one was hurt and Duran was sentenced to 40 years in prison. George W. Bush May 10, 2005: While Bush was giving a speech in the Freedom Square in Tbilisi, Georgia, Vladimir Arutinian threw a live Soviet made RGD-5 hand grenade towards the podium where he was standing and where Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and their two wives and officials were seated. It landed in the crowd 18.6 metres (61 feet) from the podium after hitting a girl, but did not detonate because the red tartan (plaid) handkerchief wrapped tightly around it didn't allow the firing pin to deploy fast enough. Arutinian was arrested in July 2005 and admitted to throwing the grenade. He was convicted in January 2006, and was given a life sentence. LINK
