Looks like we're losing a 4th Tiger after this semster since Washington has asked for a transfer and is going to Appalachian State where he won't have to sit out a year.

Kind of a disappointing career in BR for him as he came out of high school reguarded as one of the best DE's in the state of Texas, but after redshirting his first year, has only seen playing time in 9 games after that.

I hate losing depth--especially in football where injuries are a certainty, but at least this departure comes at a position where we're already deep.

We only have but one Senior DE and that's Kirston Pittman.

1.) K. Pittman, DE Sr. (if he can over-come not playing the past few years because of injuries, he could be a solid contributor)

2.) T. Jackson, DE Jr. (Only non-senior at DE that could potentially leave early for the NFL if he has a solid season)

3.) T. Johnson, DE Jr. (was mentioned last season as being a player that could push for playing time and will get it in '07)

4.) R. Alem, DE Soph. (finally gets to get playing time--may even start some)

5.) P. Levingston, DE RS-Fr. (adds depth, still a year or two away from being a serious contributor)

6.) R. Jean-Francois, DE Soph. (if grades are in order, he could either be the full-time starter opposite Jackson, or at the least, split starts with Alem)

7.) K. Aubrey, DE '07 recruit (likely to redshirt)

8.) S. Corley, DE '07 recruit (possible redshirt. I believe he doesn't redshirt only if Kirston Pittman isn't capable of returning to his old form or if Jean-Francois is still academically in-elligible and if Levingston isn't quick enough to be more than a run-stuffer).

He wasn't going to play much at LSU with all those talented DE's. If he wants to play football, he needed to transfer. But perhaps he should have considered moving to offfensive tackle where we have some depth issues.

Now Les can recruit 22 players this year instead of 18. This is why we over-recruit, fellers. There will always be guys that flunk out, get dismissed, transfer, or quit football every season. And sometimes the coach must just tell a guy that he needs to find some greener pastures. I won't be surprised at all if LSU loses three more players and rates a full 25-recruit allotment for this year.

He is also another reason why high rated players arent locks. As I recall he was one of the top 10-15 DE's in the country and maybe even top 5. Dont remember exactly but I remember him being HIGHLY recruited. Too bad...

That's why many of those "stars" behind a recruits name can be misleading. Those "stars" are based off of playing against highschool competition. The SEC ain't highschool...

Awwwww, Buzz, you're just saying that because Saban's first class at 'Bama was sprinkled with players that had no stars! :D ;) :thumb:
