I'm going to bank that this team will win 20 games this year. The Tigers will win the next 3 games in a row. Well, they should win the next 3 games in a row. I believe that the biggest challenge will be the home finally against Vandy. My only concern for LSU is that the weak play on the road may bite them in one of these games and could cost them the west. The most important aspect of these upcoming games will be for the Tigers to avoid the let down. They are riding high with these 3 big wins in a row. The cannot afford to get complacent. If they win out, they will have 6 wins in a row and a 12-4 conference record. With a record like that and a win in the SEC tourney, if only one, the Tigers could avoid that dreaded 8 or 9 seed in the tourney. I'm thinking 6 or 7 if they win out. If they win the next two road games, what do you think the attendence will be like at the pmac on the 5th? I'd like to think that the faithful will be out in droves for the last game in the PMAC. I'm guessing somewhere around 12 or 13,000. But, if they lose one of the next two, do you think it will hurt the attendence? What are your thoughts on the PMAC attendence in these two scenarios. Also, how do you think the stretch run will pan out for the Tigers?
winning out til the sec tourney finals will give us at least 4 seed. others ahead of us will lose. heck, as i posted elsewhere, two espn guys have us in their top 16. @ ole miss will be the toughest. although vandy's 3pt shooting is worrisome. i dont see us winning out though. we'll have a hiccup or two. some opponent or two will play above their heads and we'll be cold.
I can't believe our last game only had 8-9,000 fans there. I don't think they would get 12,000 even if it is the last game of the season and we are ranked. Attendence isn't hurting because he haven't been winning, it's hurting because Brady's teams are irratic and nobody knows whats going to happen. If Brady establishes that he can have a team that wins consistantly, you will see LSU fans start getting into basketball again. Until then, it won't matter much what we do for the next couple games - our last home game will not sell out, and probably won't reach 12,000.
I really believe that we are going to win out for the rest of the regualr season (I will not gaurantee that, but thats what Im thinking since we are pretty much on a roll). As much as I would love to see another banner go up in the P-mac I dont believe we will make it too far as we have pissed some teams off vu going on this said roll.
If we finish the season 12-4 in the SEC and are only a 7 seed, something is horribly wrong with the NCAA seeding process. As far as games down the stretch go, winning all three would be great. Winning on the road in the SEC is tough, and no game is a given win. However, I think this team has turned the corner and will indeed get all 3 games to finish at 12-4.
I think we'll drop one of the road games. After 3 straight big and emotional wins, we're due to have a little letdown. It could happen this weekend against Auburn, but I think a flat LSU team is still good enough to beat a bad Auburn team. We seem to always play poorly at Ole Miss, which is the game that concerns me. I don't think we'll lose to Vandy in our last home game. If we are the West #2 seed in the SEC tourney, we'll be looking at UK in the second game. My prediction is a 3-2 finish, giving us a 11-5 SEC record and 19-10 overall. Good enough for a 7 seed in the NCAA tourney.
