Retief Goosen plans to contact Tiger Woods directly to explain and then apologise for his headline-making comments in the wake of the US Open.

The South African questioned just how injured the American was as he limped his way to victory over five days at Torrey Pines, before it emerged that Woods had done even more damage to his knee ligaments while walking with a fractured leg.

Goosen has once again repeated that his statements were ‘intended to be tongue in cheek’, going on to declare that he is ‘a huge admirer of Tiger’.

Goosen is such a low key guy and seems pretty nice. I cant see him making disparaging comments about tiger with malice and forethought. I would tend to believe his explanation about it being more tongue and cheek then anything else.

Ames and Sabbatini on the other hand are wankers.
