Ok, so I was wondering when they are gonna tear down the west upper deck and begin construction. I heard they are gonna remove the pressbox and put the new west deck lower to the field with the new pressbox on top. Also I read on another board that in 5 years we will be adding a deck around the top of the south endzone. Which would bring the capacity up to 113,000. Anybody have any info to whether something like that is gonna happen?
Prelim work will begin on the deck this year. At the end of the 2004 season, the west deck comes down and will be rebuilt for the 2005 season. I have not heard any rumors about adding a deck over the south endzone.
Radavich(?) said in a statement earlier this year when asked if LSU was going to add-on again due to UGA now having a few more seats than Tiger Stadium that we weren't going to be in a large stadium contest with anybody and that there were no plans to make the stadium bigger. Of course with this new West Upper deck we will probably add a few hundred and be bigger than UGA again.
The reason they are tearing down the 24 year old west upperdeck is to make it match with the new east upperdeck ... which will allow both sides to be connected with a south upperdeck sometime in the future. When that will happen is not yet determined ... probably within 5-10 years.
That would make Tiger Stadium the largest stadium in the country. I think we would be able to fill it...alost every home game. What do you think is holding them back from enlarging the stadium?
They can't change the stadium, I just got my replica stadium for Christmas!! By the way, does anyone know how to build or where I can find resources on how to build a miniature town. I want to build a miniature campus.
The next move after the west upper should be a row of Suites across the top of the north endzone and across the lower level of the soouth endzone. Suites bring in the most revenue and pay for themselves in a few years. It's also what the fans want, judging by the waiting list.
VanGeaux... try looking at some model train web pages. Many of them have miniature products for making small scale layouts. I don't know if this will help or not, but i think it is worth a try.
I was going to suggest the same thing as I appraised a home recently where the guy had about 10 towns with mountains, streams, lakes, etc and he said a lot of it is available on train sites and some it they give you blueprints and plans for building them.
**TOP SECRET STADIUM PHOTOS BELOW** I cannot reveal my sources but this is being used in conjunction with the expansion of tiger stadium.
