Tiger Rag has always been the most readable and dependable in the long run, although they steer away from controversy now, unlike in the 70's and 80's under the old publisher, Myers, when they would give you the low-down. BUT, . . . Purple and Gold had a much better pre-season football guide last year. The P&G weekly is kind of inconsistant and really turned me off during the year that they were a shill for the TAF. They also have had some issues with their subscribers.
Personally I've been a Rag reader from its inception. I also went with P&G for awhile but found it to be redundant to have both. I also had problems with P&G as far as the subscription went so I just stuck with TR. To be honest, I get everything as far as recaps of games and most news from the Advocate and Picayune here online. The Rag is best for recruiting info, opinions, interviews, etc. The only problem I have with the Rag is that it is sometimes as much as 2 weeks late due to the 4th class mail rate they send it at. But what I read it for that really doesn't matter. So take it for what it's worth and good luck. :geauxtige
