Not that MOST of you care (Or Any), but for the Tidefans.com lurkers I would like to apologize for a comment I made on this board about the Moderator of Tidefans.com. In a heated exchange I took offense tosome Bama fans being angry about the call (Which they should have been) saying that was the ONLY reason LSU won the game,I made some comments here about a private message that was not accurate. I still believe although the call was terrible had little effect on the final outcome. The score may have been closer but I think the result is the same. I am very proud of how the Tigers Played, so having that bashed I got a little testy... Again I know no one cares, but I wanted to make that statement. I like tidefans.com I have been there for over 4 years. Pretty good people there, I just need to learn when we have a battle like that its best to simply lay low and not let emotions get the best of you. TexasTigers
I hear ya. I had to stop visiting some other teams forums (i.e. Auburn, Miami) because all they would do would say things that tried to paint LSU as bad guys. I'd get pissed every time so I dont usually stray too far from the LSU boards anymore. The best other team site I've been to is South Carolina, those guys are usually pretty cool.
That's a pretty cool thing for you to do. The call was huge, more than likely the difference in the game, although we will never know.
Alabama flat out ran out of gas in the 4th quarter, and they would have lost regardless. Bad call yes, but the only difference...absolutely not. Cry me a river.
Not the only difference, but combine that with LSU still being stuck deep in their own territory (remember we went 3 and out on 2 consecutive series after the interception). Translate that into punting from our 20 instead of midfield and Bama is starting near midfield the rest of the quarter, and possibly tacking on 3 more points to the lead (or more). I suspect LSU would have had to start gambling on defense more to create something with a 17-6 deficit. Basically there were multiple ramifiications, each very big.
It's rare that I see fans single out one call that completely determines the outcome of a game. It just doesn't usually shake out that way. :dis:

And I guess the bad call (and it was bad) caused the KO returners to muff THREE kick-offs in the 4th quarter, further contributing to their lousy 2nd half field position?
