Here's an article about UCLA's new WR coach. It talks about McCarthy's strategy last year, and is kind of concerning. http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_5620383
Sounds pretty lame, surely Miles wouldn't allow that. I mean, not taking into consideration down and distance??? That in itself is absurd.
Sounds like they are just trying to lay some blame on him to me... I doubt this will be an issue with him here at LSU, but it's just something to keep in mind.
No telling with Ruins. They're so weak, they had T shirts printed after the USC game which were the equivalent of "City Champs". :hihi: Forget they got hosed in the big Emerald Bowl, their season was "A success".
I work out with a current UCLA WR(Branon Brazell) who went to my HS and comes back to work out and stuff. I didn't ask him specifically about McCarthy but I do konw that Brandon has very quick feet, great footwork, etc. Whether it is natural or McCarthy's work, I do not know. The UCLA fans are very excited about Terrence Austin and I guess Baumgartner is a high quality walk on.
Ah, yes. The school that donned tejas orange in Pauley Pavilion after USC lost in the Rose Bowl. And they wonder why we call them utla. Oh, and their SID is quoted in this year's Media Guide as saying they would beat USC by 20 this year. They hang their season on ONE game. McCarthy's strength may just be recruiting.
Yeah, during their losing streak, my diehard friend kept repeating...all that matters is SC. I understand his passion but it's pretty pathetic.
I dont think we should worry about anything. Last year everyone including the media was saying we lost our RB (Addai), and our other 2 RBs (Broussard and Vincent) were coming off injury. Our starting QB was also coming off injury, we had also lost our hero special teams player and the playmaker on the team in Skyler Green. Our coach only won in 2005 because of Saban's players. We lost O-linemen and everything. Guess how it turned out, we finished #3 in the country with a big BCS blowout.... So, as Miles once said.....Let'r Rip!!!:thumb:
Hearing general, but I'd say knowledgeable, fans of college football talk about our new OC doesn't instill a sense of confidence. Now this about our WR coach, though it does seem odd a WR coach would have control over which players went in on any given play. Of course, our head coach isn't the most respected guy either. I'm looking forward to the season and until then a whole bunch of waiting.
