Just wanted to know if anyone was able to get tickets for a decent price prior to kickoff on the streets of New Orleans
I had a guy offer to sell for $500 a piece around thirty minutes to kickoff. One of the best prices I'd seen in a long time.
WE also heard $500 for one ticket and I'm not scalping"! That was an hour before kick off and since there were TONS more people looking rather than selling, we opted to go to the FREE game party at the old Lowes Theatre - what a blast! There were about 4000 screaming LSU fans standing up the entire game. Lots of reasons to play the fight song - what a high! We just got back from Nawlins and it has finally hit me - TEARS of JOY for the Natl. Championship!!! Way to go Tigers!!
I guess I got lucky...I talked a guy down from $500 to $428, about 2 hours before kickoff......and it was WELL worth it
I will tell you this the undercover cops were out in full force. We saw one guy get handcuffed and pinned against the fence for scalping. I was out there 5 hours before kickoff and saw no one offering tickets. First time that's ever happened. We did have a friend who got stuck at the gate with a bogus ticket that he paid $500 for.
i got there 2 hours before and i saw all the fingers up lookin....so got into panic mode and said id buy the first ticket i see....brought the price from 700 too 600 from some shady character....have to tell you...well worth every penny
I got my ticket from a Oklahoma fan for $ 450. (3 hours before kick off) I was getting mad at fans selling tickets to all the shady scalpers on Canal. Atleast the fans could have sold the tickets to other fans. THAT WAS THE BEST $ 450 I HAVE EVER SPENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FONTE
Fake Tickets I talk to a guy at the House of Blues during the game and he said that someone sold him fake tickets for $350. When they figured it out they went looking for the guy and found him (dumb ass) cops arrested the guy and they got half their money back and the Cop told them that if convicted they would probably get the rest back.:dis: I heard about the fake tickets and this why I did not look for any down there like I planned but other then saying I was in the Stadium I dont think you could have had a Better time then OU fans and LSU fans screaming in the House of Blues like we were in Tiger Stadium.
Saw an OU fan sella pair to another OU fan for face value. Of course, he outright refused to sell them to anyone in purple, and there were lots of offers made.
There were some nice pics of that party (State Palace Theatre) in the Times Picayune on Jan 5th. If you were sitting down in the VIP section then you should be able to pick yourself out.
