Like we didn't see this coming. Since we moved the Arizona State game, LSU might have to rise ticket prices next year because of expected $3 million deficit. Once again our AD is trying to screw the fans. We get screwed out of a game and now they are trying to get their hands into our pockets as well. I told my wife when the game was cancelled that Ticket prices would go up next year. I guess my predicition is right. Thanks SKIP. http://www.2theadvocate.com/stories/102605/lsu_ticket001.shtml
why do they even bother offering a refund for that game, we are going to pay for it either this year or next.
The thing is, if they raise prices, people will still buy them. The other schools offer ticket mini-packages to get rid of tickets for games like North Texas, but we don't, because the tickets still sell. Whether it's the average fan like me who buys the tickets or a corporate buyer who passes them out to employees and clients as a tax write off doesn't really matter to the administration in the grand scheme of things, I think. It's all about making money, and people like me will be forced into the upper deck, or in front of the television.
We knew this was coming, anyway. Ticket prices always go up and LSU is not getting what some SEC schools are. LSU will be competitive in every area--including ticket income.
Our face value is $36. Vanderbilt is $35. Ole Miss is $42 and Alabama is $50. Those are the only SEC schools I know.
I know that Alabama and Auburn is up around the $1000 range. The only problem is you never get the same seat from what I understand. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. That is what I love about Tiger Stadium. I've been in the same seat the last 5 years and have become friends with my neighbors. We all look out for each other. Last week was the first altercation I have seen in 5 years in S15. It didn't take long for someone to get the police involved to settle it down. If things keep going in the same direction then people will be alternating seats every year in the stadium based on the amount of money you donate. That is the direction SKIP has things headed in. We get eight home games next year, but only one possibly against a ranked team. (Assuming that Bama will be ranked) It will probably be harder to sell tickets. Home Games UL-Lafayette Arizona TBA Tulane Mississippi State Kentucky Alabama Ole Miss
No one is trying to screw the fans... :dis: You correctly answered the question yourself when you admitted to the problem we'd face from having to move the ASU game. It's no one's fault.... But the school, with all of their new projects and renovations, need to recoupe that loss.
Personally I don't care. I had to give up my tickets to move to fricken Delaware for school. After I accepted a job in Jackson for next year I told myself that the first thing I was going to buy was season tickets. At this point I don't care. Plus because of the crappy home schedule I can probably get some decent seats if people decide not to renew.
