http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/7475778 Does being put on probation, for braking your previous probation, make sense to anyone. Or is it just me?
Two CLASSIC quotes from the article: "Most kids who get into trouble are really bad students," Coker said. "With Willie Williams we'll have a good program. If Willie Williams is not here, we'll have a good program. I don't want it to be out there that the whole school and program depends on Willie Williams." - Larry Coker SO this means that Coker thinks that Williams is a good guy because he has good grades? He's essentially justifying ignoring dude's record because dude has good grades. Pretty baffling considering the length of his rap sheet... The kid is such a hot potato neither Florida nor Florida State would touch him now. Williams' own high school coach, who loves him to death, called him, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Ouch. Looks like Thug U needs a skilled linebacker IN A BAD WAY........ :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:
Breaking probation is a serious offense. It usually lands you in jail/prison, depending on your iniital offense that got you put on probation. But the justice system is not designed to work that way if you have great potential as an athelete, or you simply have so much money that you can buy your way out of it.
This statement is most interesting to me: "But five months after an incident that led to his 12th arrest in his 19 years on earth, linebacker recruit Willie Williams is a heartbeat away from entering Miami's football program."
Its a shame how many of these references go unnoticed these days. I saw that again yesterday for the first time in years.
