Add to that the very real possibly of having a 60/40 split in the Senate, allowing Dems to run rampant with whatever laws they please.

    Vote people, plain and simple.

And you can help avert disaster.

Of course, when the Republicans owned the White House, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court, that was acceptable. Six years of controlling everything brought us an endless war, unprecended National Debt, international scorn, the worst financial crisis in almost a century, scandals, and Osama bin Ladin still runs free.

It's the American way. If you blow it, the voters will turn you out of office and give another party a chance to do better. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid may frighten you, but 4 more years of Republicans in charge frighten most of the rest of us. The thought of Sarah Palin in the office frightens the hell out of everybody.

First, Osama bin-Ladin brought us a war (no war is endless), and it was a war everyone - Democrats and Republicans - agreed to. Secondly, the national debt belongs to both parties. Third, if by defending our national interests against terrorism brings us international scorne, so be it. We are not going to put ourselves at risk just to win a popularity contest in Europe. Fourth, Republicans may not have done everything they could to prevent the economic meltdown we are now facing, but it was engineered and driven by the Democrats demand for subprime loans. Fifth, if the Democrats had been in power both in the White House and Congress for the past 4 years, bin Ladin would still be free.

I sure wish I had a time machine so I could go back and find out what all these salivating Dems were thinking when the twin towers fell and bombs started falling on Iraq.

Uhhhh, Osama bin Ladin wasn't in Iraq and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. You know this to be true.

Clinton ran surpluses and was paying down the debt before Republicans started added expensive new programs while irresponsibly cutting national revenues.

I'm taking about the foolish and mismanaged war in Iraq and you know it. It did nothing to combat Al Qaida terrorism.

Then why didn't it happen deacdes earlier when the CRA was institututed? I'll tell you why. Because in 2004 the Republicans removed the regulations that had previously allowed banks to make sub-prime loans but consistent with responsible lending practices. This whole crisis happened under republican leadership.

A wild-ass guess, of course. But the American Way allows us to throw out failed politicians and give the Democrats an actual chance to show us if they can do better. More of the same is simply stupid.

You always conveniently leave out the fact that Clinton signed the deregulation bill only after insisting that affordable housing measures be included. The Republicans did not want that but knew it was the only way to get their dereg bill passed.

Granted. Clinton knew he had to cooperate with the republicans in the 90's. But he had nothing to do with the 2004 regulatory changes that precipitated the crisis.

True, the bill left no one guarding the henhouse, but it's Clinton who put the foxes in the henhouse.

It's nice to hear some common sense!

You can also add that the great Bill Clinton had Bin Ladin captured but decided to let him go. So maybe we wouldn't be at war right now if he would have killed the bastard instead.

And i love how the republicans are blamed for our economic crisis. But our economy has only gone to crap in the last couple years since the dems have taken over congress.

Clinton signed it, but it was a Repubican Congress legislation. This particular misstep was a bipartisan one. The 2004 misstep was not.

We the citizens are all better off with bi-partisan legislation. It invests both sides in a decision forcing them to cooperate rather than evade each other.
