?

If you were the supreme ruler of S.C....what would you do

  1. Should the State of S.C. take the confederate flag down from the CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL?

  2. Tell the NCAA to shove it where the sun dont shine

  3. Perhaps move the flag somewhere else in hope of pleasing the few people that it offends

Don't have a clue as to where this would go as it could have an effect on LSU indirectly...but might fit better in the Free Speech Forum...i dunno!

Here it is. Just wanted to get everybodies general conception of how idiotic this NCAA ban on post season games in the states of MS and SC? Ever since S.C. took the confederate flag off the top of the capital building and put it at the Confederate MEMORIAL, we are still having to discuss ramifications of this. To me...that should have been a comprimise....but apparently its not. I personally think that the NCAA needs to get over their power trip and realize the histroy behind the flag and what it means to the state of S.C. This is where the Civil War started...a quick 10 min. boat ride from my house out to Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor...where guess what....a confederate flag flies at a National Monument.

Take the little poll and lets see how you guys feel.

I am guessing this will have to be moved to the FSA *very* soon, but for now it is fine here.

I don't think the NCAA should have the right to do that. I'd investigate avenues for a lawsuit were I SC. The NCAA seems pretty annoying to me.

I'm in the "I don't care" category and don't see how this would affect LSU directly or indirectly.

Ok... so I am offended that we have a MLK holiday for a guy who was a borderline communist, cheated on his wife, and had a drug habit... I am offended by a draft dodging racist like Muhammad Ali being at the Orange Bowl... But.. to the victor goes the spoils.. we lost.. the STATES have lost all of their rights in this country, therefore the people have lost their rights... So.. we have no say..

Let he who is without sin...
Anyway, MLK advocated ending violence and oppression without resorting to violence and oppression. We could use more black leaders like him today.

Cheating on his wife or doing drugs would seriously compromise his ability to effectively minister as a Christian.

I think that previous post might force this into a forum in which I cannot participate. Sry

because just like the NCAA's hissy fit over what they considered to be offensive to all native americans with team mascots such as the "seminoles", with the confederate flag thing, the NCAA is trying to force political correctness.

there is a place for the debate over such things, but, IMO, the ncaa is overstepping it's bounds.

oh, and back to your quote. it effects lsu and every other school because if the nazi's continually are allowed to force schools to follow "guidelines" that have nothing to do with the sports, who knows what they will think of next that DOES effect lsu!
