I know that they have gone undefeated so far this year so they obviously deserve a top 25 ranking, but #7.....I doubt that. Boise has had a lot of close calls against lowly opponents this season, that should be taken into account when ranking them. The fact that they are undefeated should not be the only factor. Louisville and Utah have a stronger case. Plug Boise State into LSU's schedule and there is no chance in hell that they beat Auburn, Florida, UGA, and maybe Arkansas and Bama. I think we can all agree on that. It just irks me that they are ranked so much higher than LSU when we all know they would get waxed by the Tigers. If everyone knows that they wouldn't be undefeated in our SEC schedule, they shouldn't be ranked so high on that fact alone. #7- Boise State . . . . #12- LSU Something is wrong with that picture. :dis: Why don't we just start scheduling all ULL and Western Illinois from here on out so that we too can stay high in the polls. I know Boise St. has no control over who is on their schedule right now, but to reward them with a #7 ranking for manhandling patsies, is absurd.
Understand your frustration but I don't give a rat's about seeing LSU play ULL, Southeast New Mexico, Colgate, Palmolive, etc. Bring on the big boys. It'll settle out sooner or later. I'd like to say there's no future in beating the also-rans but under the current system......well, you have a point. Maybe wisdom will someday intervene. Finally, you're right on point. Boise State would be a 5-6 loss team in the SEC. :nope:
You guys are crazy, they would not lose 5 or 6 games in the SEC. I love LSU and the SEC, but I'm tired of hearing how much better this conference is than any other one....it is just not the case anymore. Football talent is more abundant than ever, and it is spread out more than ever. These schools, while definately not going through a top ranked schedule, are no pushovers. I am not sure LSU could even beat Boise State...not sure we could keep up with their scoring. They would not win the SEC for sure, but no way they lose 6 games. Same with Utah, Louisville, etc.
Boise St. will NEVER have a chance at a NCG, but somehow I suspect that they don't really care about that. If they go undefeated, some yayhoos out in Idaho will probably claim that they are national champs as well. A bit more than a week ago, BSU barely got by San Jose St. in San Jose. OT game and SJSU sucks.
Yeah, cause I don't think that's gonna happen tonight. It's just very odd to me that a team that would be at least a 2 loss team if stuck in the SEC, Big 10 or Big 12, is ranked SEVENTH!!! ....In the entire nation. It seems to be a consensus (around the nation) that Boise St. would have several losses in most BCS conferences.
They may not have 5 or 6 losses, but I can almost guarantee they wouldn't be undefeated. So are you saying that Boise St. plays in a conference equal to the SEC, cause that's sure is what it sounds like. Indeed it is spread out, but not so much in the non BCS conferences compared to BCS conferences. BCS conferences as a whole are just head and shoulders over non BCS conferences and thus we argue the schudule that non BCS teams have to go through is nothing compared to BCS teams. If they have to go through a non BCS schedule, then why do they get to go to a BCS bowl? Of course we could, their defense is poor. Their offense is deceiving cause of the lack of defense they play against, but LSU would put an end to that high scoring. Those two teams are a lot better than Boise State. My beef is with Boist State mainly.
... Give Boise St., Louisville, and Utah some of the SEC or Big 12 calibur recruits... they could be contenders this year, I dont hate they win games like LSU... some may be ugly but they WIN... they shouldnt be punished because they play in a weaker conference... its hard to go undefeated whichever conference you play in... b/c they have the same level of recruits coming in... I think any team undefeated should have a shot at a BCS bowl over any team with a loss... maybe not a title game, but a high bowl game.. Flame at will
BCS bowls should be... Orange: OU v Auburn Rose: Cal/Texas v Iowa (Michigan shouldn't be able to lose their way in) Sugar: Utah/Louisville v USC Fiesta: Boise St. v Louisville/ Utah
