is there going to be 1 rec to get 1000 rec yards???? and who is there going to be a Rb with a 1000 rushing yards??? and who will the defense finish in the top 10 for total D at years end????
On the first question, the answer is no. With the 2nd question, the answer is no. The answer to the 3rd question is maybe... Too many tailbacks will be rotating in and out. We will quite literally have 4 MVP level tailbacks on our depth chart next fall in Broussard / Addai / Carey / Vincent, and Jacob Hester will factor into that mix as well! Too many wideouts will be pushing for time next year between Dwayne Bowe, Skyler Green, Craig Davis, Xavier Carter, Amp Hill, & Early Doucet... The defense has a chance to be great with a veteran safety corp, talented newcomers at the corners, and great experience and depth on the defensive line and at linebacker. Just my $0.02...
I think we have to much talent and to many big time players... on espn today during the South C game they were talking about players and putting up nummbers..... This may be a better question.... how many yards will this rec group get for the year same for the RB's the D time will tell... I think they will still be a very good group and land in the top 10....
JUST SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND. THE OFFENSE WON'T BE VERY AGGRESSIVE, JUST KEEP THE BALL ON THE GROUND. THE DEFENSE WILL BE VERY LAID BACK, LET THE OTHER TEAM MAKE 6 OR 7 YARDS AND MAYBE THEN DECIDE TO MAKE THE TACKLE. JUST SPEAKING FROM XPERIENCE. GO POKES!! Glad you got him, cause I'm glad to get rid of him. Later LES
ok and when guys in stillwater finish in last place in the big 12 this year and we're in atlanta winning another sec crown come back and tell me you were glad to get rid of him please sir!
This Tiger offense has more overall talent and depth than I honestly think ever seen at LSU. The key to offensive success IMO will be if Jimbo Fisher and Les Miles cand determine where and when to put certain players into the lineup. There are so many talented skill position players that the task will be finding the right ones to go against a particular defense or situation that gives LSU its best chance at winning. Unless one guy becomes so dominant and unstoppable that he gets that many opportunities I don't think you'll see a 1000-yard rusher or reciever. There just won't be enough carries or catches for one player to reach that mark. Defensively I don't expect much drop off if any from last year. The athletes are in place to replace Webster and Daniels and Turner. You can't replace Spears individually but as a unit I think the DL will be very solid. Special Teams: I look for Chris Jackson to have a solid year placekicking, if he doesn't have to punt as well. It's time for Patrick Fisher from DeMatha HS to finally show why LSU recruited a punter. The return game should be one of the best in the country with Skyler, Xavier and Co. back there. One area I would like to see the Tigers do more of is block placekicks, use some of that phenomonal athletic ability to put pressure on opposing kickers. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like we have truly blocked many kicks since the 90's. Overall, I don't think I remember a year where the Tigers were so deep and talented across the board. With the favorable schedule, 2005 could be a very special year.
As I posted yesterday, I don't think ive seen such great talent here before. Not this much anyway... Its ridiculous...
That you Nick Saban!!!! I think there is an outside chance we have both a receiver and a RB go over a thousand as QB's usually alwys have a favorite target and if one of the backs really steps up he'll get a lot of carries. I don't think there is much chance of any of them having outlandish numbers though. Too many good ones.
