If one person on the AP doesn't put USC in their Top 25 as a protest, the Sugar Bowl winner would easily be #1. Is there a rule about dropping teams too many spots? If they took away 25 points, it would only take one OU or LSU faithful to make the world right again.
I think it's a fabulous idea. Email it to Rabalais. Once. Or maybe the guy in Tennessee. There has to be one AP writer with enough integrity to see what's being taken away from the teams who play by the rules by a single team who whines when things don't go their way. One writer out there has to see the orgy that's going on between most of the national media and their darling team and be disgusted by it. No matter what LSU or Oklahoma does on Sunday, there will be writers who vote USC #1 and probably Michigan #2 (for playing USC so close, ha ha). If that's ok, so is this. BTW, if someone is industrious enough to email the idea to one or two credible AP voters, let everyone here know so that everyone doesn't do it, flooding them with emails. This is just an idea (albeit a great one), not a campaign.
The last email campaign did get some attention. This one only needs to get one voter's attention. If we work as hard with this campaign as we did with the last one, I think we can accomplish our one voter goal. I didn't email last time, but I would love some addresses and help emailing them. Let's get behind our team! What's the worst that could happen...if it doesn't work, we only get the split we are getting now. Remember only AP voters not all of them like last time.
NONONONONONONO NO CAMPAIGN! we don't need to piss anyone off, just put the idea in the head of someone with integrity.
First of all, I don't give a damn about pissing off an AP voter. The ones we would piss off aren't the ones we're after. Secondly, how do you plan to find this magical voter with integrity and whisper in his ear?
