Tasmin in a good player but we are thin after that. How nice would Ross Neltner look about right now. We need to give Davis some help. John Brady suggesting that Magnum would replace Tyrus is looking like a joke. This team is light in depth.
I blasted the team on another thread, but ENOUGH with the crying for Ross Neltner crap. He's not why we lost this game today. Granted, Brady didn't do anything with bench, but honestly, this is a deeper team than last year. AND, depth didn't cost us this game (you expend less energy when all you do is play against a zone)... the fact that we shot 35% from the field and we don't have any reliable outside shooters and couldn't solve the zone did. Now, I'll give you that we have no other significant leaders on the team besides Davis. That's the problem, no one has consistently stepped up (like D.Mitch and Tyrus from last year) as the second or third option.
I think one thing were missing is a true point guard. A really good point guard can make a big difference. How come Brady doesn't recruit a good point guard instead of always trying to turn someone into a PG?
The fact this team has no bench, no true point guard falls squarely on the shoulders of the coach. Bad recruiting.
Come on guys...the sky isn't falling. Granted there are some defeciencies but I think it will work out.
This team needs a power forward that can catch the ball, rebound, and play physical defense. Rolle and Lazarre are adequate bench players and it appears that is all they will ever be. It is the coaches fault just like it was the coaches fault to only score three points vs Auburn. That being said, don't judge the team on one game. Arkansas has been beaten by John Brady's team so often we knew they would win one eventually. Look at the rest of the SEC. It is a balanced league this year. Florida beat Ole Miss about the same margin as LSU. Vandy killed Alabama, beat Tennessee, then beat Kentucky at Rupp. We will lose several this year but it you are going to criticize the coach name your choice to replace him. It doesn't appear that neither Louisville(Patino), Michigan State(Izzo), Connecticutt(Calhoun), nor Kentucky(Tubby Smith) will be in the top twenty-five next week, yet Butler will.
