My son, who is a Tennessee graduate, heard from another Tennessee alum that Spurrier has been in communication with the athletic department at UT. He is originally from Johnson City, Tennessee, a one hour drive from Knoxville.

Tennessee alumni also started the rumor that Fulmer was gone...

    Settle down, everyone...

Do any of you think that Tennessee would make a mistake as grave as this one while they're still very much in the thick of the SEC Eastern Division, and by that rationale, the SEC Championship?

Sounds silly to me, but then again, but nothing would surprise me this year...

Could you freaking imagine the meltdown that would occur in Gainsville? It would be TiderInsideresque to say the least.

His offense is passe. Look at his record at Fl the last 5 years. Saban's defense would handle him.

Since Florida's Nat'l Championship in 1996, LSU has more 10+ win seasons than UF.

LSU 2 (soon to be 3), UF 1

I believe all of this is urban (or southern) myth. Over the last three weeks, I've heard that Spurrier is talking with UT, North Carolina, Duke, and Florida about returning to the college ranks.

Wherever he goes, or if he stays in Washington, I don't believe he will ever have the success he had at UF in the 90's.

I really believe the LSU is starting its rise and will run the SEC for as long as Saban wants to stay here.

Boo Hoo, look who cant coach worth a crap in the NFL so he comes back to where he dominated, The NCAA. That will be a really stupid decision if spurrier goes along with it because if he would give himself time I think spurrier wouldnt be half-bad as a coach in the NFL, Its just a lot harder to coach in the NFL then NCAA and im sure he realizes that now. Spurrier needs to get his priorities straight if all this Tennessee stuff is true.
