You know how Doxies are. Would you keep a pit around them?

Pits are the only dogs that really scare me as a breed.

I like pits but Ive seen the damage they can do up close and personal as have most. Their instincts and power often show up at some point. I had to shoot a doberman for making a move toward my nephew when he was a toddler. Got out the pistol and shot him right on the runner.

Well if you come to CA, you can go to the local dog park with me where you will see dozens of pibbles.....and not a grouchy or angry one in the bunch. My pibble is the best dog I've ever had and I'm not a low-life. The worst dogs for starting fights are retrievers. Goldens mostly. Everyone thinks they are cute and shit but they are aggressive and anxious.

I disagree that they are constantly in the news. Attacks get a lot of media because they can be gruesome.....dirty laundry and all. Bad owners make for bad dogs. The breed itself is not the issue.

Small dogs ALWAYS start shit.....but they aren't prepared to finish the shit. At my local dog park there is an area for small dogs and one for big dogs. There are owners who bring their small dogs in to the big dog area and then get pissy when a bigger dog makes it known they want to be left alone by little yappy.
I try to love all dogs....but I don't. I do like dachsunds but only when I try real hard. As a kid, we had a neighbor with lots of them and they barked non-stop.

I'm more of a big dog person, always had shepherds, black labs, and a shep/bernard mix .....but I also love bulldogs. Pits are a very healthy breed compared to most. Minimal skin/shedding issues, love to play, very loyal. Mine runs with me and she's great company.

Really? They shouldn't be. There are a few breeds that legit scare me, but pits are not one of them.

    This breed....

In my 13 years experience as owner of a medium size dog (about 70 pounds), its always the smaller dog that starts shit. There are a couple of miniatures in my neighborhood that have a fit every time they see Baxter, but he ignores them every time. But let Baxter see a bigger dog than him, and he has a conniption.
