First let me say John Saunders is a worthless waste of skin. O.K. Now to my point. If the media insists on USC winning back-to-back titles then doesn't that make the BCS irrelevant? And if so then why don't they just shut it down. It hasn't settled anything. In fact IMO it has hurt college football as a whole.
Yeah, but we can't let that get in the way of their dynasty. And also the media outlets in coordination with the BCS- ABC and ESPN- are contractually bound to the BCS as well. They'll gladly toss that out the window (like USC did last year) and act like nothing ever happened, like the AP and BCS titles are interchangable and USC is B2B NC. I'd love to see them get the smackdown from the BCS commissioner (is there one?) for cheapening last year's game.
Last year's BCS commissioner cheapened the game, too. He kept going on and on about USC being shut out. Last night, in many ways, it seemed like last year's Sugar Bowl was just a battle of two "also-rans" and that USC was always the best team. It took a while before LSU's name was even mentioned when last year's championship was discussed.
