    :hihi: Whatever

Ole' salty is just being a typical paranoid right wing conservative. There is a war being waged in our schools, and those of you who have children or plan on having children, need to wake up and take notice. But hey, the left has no agenda right?

Unconstitutional? Funny, you didn't seem to mind that phrase when we were discussing the Patriot Act. How convenient.

Sex is everywhere these days. Do I condone that? Not at all. I think sex is a personal act, and am quite disturbed at the amount of sexual liberalism on network and cable TV. But I'm not naive enough to believe that educating children is encouraging it. They're encouraged enough in many other facets of society.

The PATRIOT Act isn't unconstitutional. Am I to believe that you know more about the subject than everyone in Washington, to include the Supreme Court?

So how does that justify teaching it in schools. Especially doing it the way that they are presenting it. I've fixed the above post and you can clearly see what their motive is. They are aiming to erase any idea in our youngest one's minds that there is anything wrong with being gay.

You're kidding, right? Do you have amnesia?
Would you rather a child learn about sex from MTV, porno mags, or even primetime TV? Humans are sexually motivated creatures by our very nature. There is nothing that you, nor any amount of Christians can do about that. With so many risks involved, it's far better to be educated about it.
So what? I'd rather that then have them grow up being insufferable, intolerant bigots. And how does that effect you personally? Is it going to make you or your children gay? No.

    No. Why?

I can control most of those things. I can not control what some teacher is telling my child in the classroom. Not directly anyway. To say that "humans are sexually motivated creatures by our very nature" is to place us on a level no higher than a dog. I'm glad you think so much of yourself. Saying that there is nothing that Christians can do about it is just the kind of attitude that we are fighting. There is plenty that can and is being done to protect our families. Education is fine as long as it is done the right way.

I don't want my children to be bigots. I also don't want them to be lied to. It confuses the children when they are being taught one thing at hame and church and then something different at school. There is no reason whatsoever to be teaching kids about sexual preference in school.

Sorry, my remedial civics courses for today are all full.:dis:
To some extent. What you can't control is what they learn/see from their friends and peers.
How so? I didn't say that we act on impulse alone as an animal does. Maybe that's what you assumed? Humans are born with sexual instincts. That is a fact. How does that make us even with dogs?
BS. Christians, despite their best (or worst) attempts, will never contol societal patterns and tendencies. But it's amusing to watch them try.
Ok, but don't, for one second, try to sell that as 'the Christian way.'
You do want them to be bigots if you want them to grow up believing that homosexuality is evil. And tolreance, despite being your biggest pet peeve, is not a 'lie.' Do you still fail to realize that?

So you are calling Christians bigots then? We've been called worse. All Christians (and when I say Christian I mean true Christians who believe what the Bible states, not people who just call themselves Christian and are still lost) believe that homosexuality is against God's will therefore it is wrong. So, to answer your question, I guess I do want my children to be bigots in that sense. My children will understand that just because that person has chosen to live outside of God's will doesn't mean that he or she cannot repent and be saved. We are all God's children.

Don't expect God to show "tolerance" when he judges us. You can be the nicest person on earth, but if you are living outside of His law then you will spend eternity seperated from Him. That is what my children will be taught.

No I can't. But, I can control, at least while they live in my house, who their friends and peers are by sacrificing and sending my children to good schools and being a parent when it comes to who my children associate with.

I'd love to have a lawsuit against the school board saying that the schools are not teaching enough math and science. Where is that lawsuit? Our kids are coming out of schools unprepared to go to college and get a job but they are taught plenty about condoms and homos. And we wonder why the country is going to hell in a homo.........

The math and science thing is mainly deficient in the south. Some states actually have their act together on it.

I just find it hilarious when kids I know say to me "Man, I sure do want to be $profession. So I say, "Do it".

They say, "I don't want to do the math", or "I don't want to be in school for x years"... or "It's too hard".

Inevitably those are the ones serving me at Ruth's Chris, Sullivan's, or Ruffino's instead of doing the profession they would enjoy and excel in.

    Of course, NTTAWWT.
