There has been a lot of talk about "young" wide receivers

That just chaps me. These kids have been catching a football since they were about 3 years old. Now they each have full ride athletic schlorships to "catch" the football. I'm not buying they are young wide receivers and that is why they are dropping the ball.

Year after year you see freshman WR's come in and catch the ball. Lafell is just flat out our version of Devery Henderson for the Saints. He cannot catch the ball.

I wonder if we threatened to take away their schlorships they would start catching the ball better?

Name me a top receiver who has not dropped some balls. Just one.

Right . . . toss our best receivers off the team for dropping some passes and they will start catching passes better. And replace them with who? Get a grip, WCT! Young receivers still have a lot to learn, let 'em learn.

Running routes in Gary Crowton's offense
    Securing the ball
    Downfield blocking
Getting open against SEC caliber defenses

I'm sure if you had it your way, LSU's all-time Touchdown machine, Dwayne Bowe would have been kicked off the team his first year along with Early Doucet, Devery Henderson (Who led the 2003 team in TD's) and every other receiver that may have struggled his first year.

You claim year after year Frosh WR's come in and catch the ball
I'm sure you're referring to Michael Crabtree as one of them. I would like you to watch the last pass that was thrown to him in the game against Oklahoma State with the game on the line and still see if you feel that way about him. Every Young receiver drops balls, let's wait till they get older to judge them as complete players. Again we wouldnt' have a WR corps if our coaches weren't patient.

We signed high school receivers and that's what we still have. Half a season is gone, they still drop the ball. Our coaches need to get their heads out of their butts. Or, perhaps, we need new coaches.
