I guess I am a bit out of the loop on the availability of a vaccine for Swine Flu. My father in law has been with and still consults to the aap/soid/cdc and had a red book dedicated to him. I will let you know if he has any concerns when and if a specific vaccine becomes available. I checked my voice mail and email without discovering any flagged messages urging us to be forewarned about an impending flawed vaccine. I am sure he would let us know before putting his kids and grandkids at risk.

The H1N1 virus is a hybrid, with genetic elements of swine influenza, avian influenza, and human influenza. There is no vaccine yet to protect humans against swine flu. Because this is a new strain, seasonal flu shots do not protect people, so good hygiene is important to help prevent the spread of germs. The influenza is spread by coughing, sneezing and unclean hands. The CDC recommends:

more than likely, you are both protected from the h1n1 ("swine flu") but likely not the seasonal flu stain coming up. that is, if it was confirmed that you had h1n1.

Mae-Wan Ho was educated and trained at good universities, but her career has been less than stellar. I barely recognize any journals she has published in and she certainly is not an expert on viruses/influenza or vaccinations. She is a geneticist that writes inflammatory alarmist books on the dangers of recombinant DNA technology.

Joe Cummins is a holistic medicine guy (enough said IMO). at least he is faculty at a university ive heard of.

if i was looking on important advice, id find other sources.

wrt thimerosol, good studies have now been done showing no link to anything (yes including autism). thimerosol does have mercury but all pediatric vaccines have not had thimerosol for years now. some non-pediatric vaccines still do (like some flu vaccines), but you can get them without thimerosol. btw, there is about the same amount of mercury in a can of tuna.

What an incredibly original and amazing idea! Sigh.

When I get sick, I drink a gallon of orange juice, a coke if I feel nauseous and sleep until I feel better. This works on pretty much everything. If people would stop going to the doctor every time their eye itches, maybe health care wouldn't be so freaking expensive.

Would you value my opinion on the subject grad? You know me and you know I wouldn't BS you. When it comes to vaccines and their side effects, I believe I would be considered a subject matter expert. I have lived with the effects of a misguided vaccine for over eight years. I know first hand what the adjuvant squalene is capable of doing to the human immune system. It isn't pretty.

It will be over my dead body before anyone in my immediate family is given this vaccine.

I consider myself to be part of the above study...I just had no idea was participating.

It has been said that my immune system is now forty times stronger than the average persons. I haven't had so much as a cold since 2002. I guess the scientist accomplished one of their goals with that. My son, conceived after I became ill, is now five years old and has never had a virus and only once ran a slight fever due to a bacterial infection. He does not show signs of the pain and hopefully never will. There are several other issues that we are suspicious of though.

Having such a strong immune system may sound nice but trust me when I say it is not. I am waiting on permission to begin taking immune suppressive treatments that will hopefully even me out. I'm not expecting a 100% improvement but any improvement would be nice.

Overnight I went from being able to climb a mountain, swim a river, and run a marathon to barely being able to walk. It wasn't a gradual decline in health but more like a ton of bricks were dropped on me. It didn't happen after the first shot, or even the second or third, but the forth. We later discovered that the forth came from a known infected lot of the vaccine.

I'll be happy to discuss this subject more if gumbo continues to say that vaccines are harmless.

i never have nor never will say that, but when herd immunity is desired for the benefit of the general public vaccines are very effective.

even the best vaccines will cause serious problems even death in small percentage of individuals. every human is unique. there is no way to know what the effects of the pathogen bits, adjuvants and preservatives will be on every person.

I know of side effects and "studies", but my question Salty, was the vaccine or a production error the cause of your response?

The vaccine itself. There is evidence also that some lots were relabeled after they expired. The FDA actually caught them placing new labels over the old ones. We were able to take literally thousands of different medical records and use them to determine which lots were causing the problems. Some differences can be explained by the relabeling which would change the lot from which some shots came from. The scientist at Tulane took care of the rest.
