The sportsworld contributes generously

Relief contributions by various sports teams/figures/associations (as reported on Sportscenter):

The NFL: $1million
New York Yankees: $1million
Houston Texans: $1million
University of Florida: $75,000
Baron Davis: $50,000

They also mentioned the Astros, but I did not hear an amount.

This truely warmed my heart. Especially from The Boss and the Gators.

For somebody who wanted out of New Orleans so badly to put up money out of his own pocket says a lot, in my opinion. I've always like Baron Davis and like him even more now.

 

I cant help but look at NFL: 1 million and think: This is from a league who's individual teams are worth hundreds of millions... I would think they can do alot better...

 

I was thinking the same thing. But better yet, all those players in pro-sports that make muli-millions yearly need to cough up some big $. Each.

But anything is a start.

 

Baron Davis supposedly loved New Orleans, just hated the Hornets.

 

Every person on the planet COULD do more. I could sell my house and car, and move into the Astrodome and donate quite a bit.

None of us are in a position to judge the philanthropy of others.

 

Serena Williams= 100 dollars for every ace she has for the rest of the year...

Sorry, just had to lighten up on the mood some.

I pray for all of the families that still have family unaccounted for, I myself am still missing some cousins.
