Saw this earlier (sorry I didn't post the link), but the sporting news predicts us to play in the Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio St. Granted, I know the main thought process and focus is getting to the Sugar Bowl--but it's interesting in that SOMEONE actually gives us credit and picks us to win the SEC.
Actually, all four of the ESPN Bowl Projections have us in a BCS bowl. We are starting to get respect everywhere but the computers. We'd have respect there too if they still used margin of victory.
Bring on any of the teams ranked ahead of us. I just don't want a "boring" team to play in a bowl, like when we had to play Illinois in the Sugar Bowl. I mean, who cares about Illinois--who hasn't won five games since we handed them their butts on a platter two years ago.
Beating a 'sexy' team would deffinately help our national image. Beating someone like Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida St would deffinately give us a boost.
Come to think of it, pretty much all of the teams mentioned would be nice (to play against in a BCS bowl) EXCEPT Ohio St. How many weeks go by with the expression, "Stop me if you've heard this, but Ohio State barely squeezes out a victory again."??? Beating them--dispite them being the defending champs might not mean as much as beating Miami, Michigan, FSU or Va Tech.
The Fiesta Bowl would be great Jan 2nd 9pm est. prime time LSU VS other large school ( mich, FSU, Miami) I dont care we can win.
