I don't understand why the Saints don't draft or sign more players from LSU, or at least the SEC. Every Sunday I flip the channels to try and catch Kevin Faulk or Josh Reed or any of the other Tigers in the NFL. On Mondays, I try and see if any of them played, and if so what they did. (Toefield had a good game Sunday, for example.) I can't understand why there are practically no LSU players on the Saints roster. I promise you I would make more than my current one or two trips a year to the Dome on Sundays if some of our players were there. Deuce was a good move, and I enjoy watching him because he is good, and because I remember seeing him play in college, but couldn't Rondell Mealey do Fred McAffee's job (nothing against McAffee) just as well and get a lot more fan support in the process? To me, the Saints are just BLAH. :geaux: :lsug:

Hatcher, that is an excellent point. To cast your lot with the Saint's is to guarantee yourself a career of frustration, failure and humiliation.

Yet the original point of this thread is a good one too. When the Saint's had Dalton Hilliard and Eric Martin they were great to watch.

It wouldn't do us any good to have former Tigers on the Saints' roster. As soon as they started to shine like Double D, Tom Benson would sell, I mean "trade" them away like he does everyone else.

    The Saints are like 7up!

    Never had it. Never will.

I love those lovable losers, but the Saints are never going to be a consistent playoff contender until Mr. Benson no longer owns the team.

One playoff win is all they have to show for 36 seasons of NFL participation.

That is an unacceptable return on the investment of time and money it takes to be a Saints fan.

That's why I bleed PURPLE AND GOLD!!

Personally... I like seeing them in Dallas. I remember when they had LeFleur, and next year Bradie James is gonna break out. Send the Tigers to a team that has made 'winning' one of it's priorities. Send them to Big D!!!

So why do so many LSU fans hate the Saints? I don't get it. It seems all everyone does on here when talking about the saints is bash them. Is it to make the tigers seem that much more important? And regardless of what you all may think the saints have the highest payroll in the entire NFL this year. Also, the only players the saints seem to be getting lately are uga players, so yes they are getting players from the sec.

Good point Jeff, about the UGA players. The 'aints have half of their d-line from two years ago!!

Because the Saints SUCK. They really don't do much for the state of Louisiana except make it the laughing stock of the NFL, and professional sports. As far as i'm concerned, the Saints hurt the state. Now I tried. I really tried to like the Saints. I was born into the arms of Dallas Cowboys fans (thats what North Louisiana will do to you), and we've grown to despise the Saints. My boy TomyDingo HATES the Saints. He's lived in BR his whole life. The fact of the matter is the Saints suck. They always have sucked, and they always will. They have become a team that I will enjoy watching lose until they eventually fold. It's just not worth it. Okay i am SO about to get flamed!!!!
