Is if Louisville is chosen ahead of us.....this is how I see it: There are 10 bids. They will go to 6 conference champions of the SEC, BIG 10, BIG 12, PAC 10, BIG East, ACC. Then Boise State is an automatic qualifier, Michigan will obviously be chosen, and Notre Dame is practically automatic. Who does that leave? LSU, maybe Arkansas but after two losses probably not unless of course they win the SEC championship game, Louisville, and after a WVU loss that's pretty much it. I think if Florida wins it's down to us and Louisville and we win that battle. Of course it's down to the individual bowls blah blah blah but to simplify it we just have to be more attractive than Arkansas and Louisville. I think we will get in. Am I missing anyone?
I think it's down to either Louisville or Notre Dame. LSU will be ahead of both those teams in the BCS.
Our competition, in terms of highest threat to lowest: 1) Florida (if they lose to Arkansas) 2) Notre Dame 3) Louisville, but only if Rutgers upsets WVU, otherwise Louisville wins Big East 4) Auburn 5) Virginia Tech 6) WVU (should they beat Rutgers) If Florida wins and WVU beats Rutgers, LSU and Notre Dame will both be chosen as at-large bids. Michigan and Boise State get the other 2 at-large.
so what happens if the rose does in fact take ND....i dont think the Sugar would choose LSU (SEC vs SEC).....so no BCS then?
If Florida wins the SEC CG and the Rose commits suicide by choosing ND to play Michigan: Rose: Michigan vs. Notre Dame Sugar: Florida vs. Louisville Orange: ACC Champ vs. LSU Fiesta: Big 12 vs. Boise State LSU would then be up against Auburn, Virginia Tech, WVU. No competition. Virginia Tech (ACC) vs the ACC Champ is a no-no. If Florida loses the SEC CG and the Rose commits suicide by choosing ND to play Michigan: Rose: Michigan vs. Notre Dame Sugar: Arkansas vs. Louisville Orange: ACC Champ vs. LSU/Florida Fiesta: Big 12 vs. Boise State I think Florida would be taken in this scenario.
I really do not seeing the Grand Daddy of All Bowl creating an VERY UGLY rematch. It is still possible that USC can drop it to UCLA, which would pit Mich in the championship, USC in the Rose, ND dropping down to play the Winner of the SECC, in the Sugar with an ACC/BigEast showdown in the Orange The SECC is gonna put us where we are gonna be. If Florida wins we Play in the Rose, if Ark saw wins then we get Bump out of the BCS althougther
I say LSU. But what's to say Michigan vs. Florida isn't just as attractive if not moreso to the Rose Bowl people. If Florida should lose, we need it to be a blowout (similiar to ND losing to USC last night). Then the Rose won't dare touch Florida. So either a Florida win or Arkansas blows out Florida. Either way, we are in. A close win by Arkansas is what I fear most.
