no not your friends. tell us if you live outside of New Orleans and have been mugged or robbed or witnessed some anarchy since Katrina. trying to get a feel for actual numbers instead of everyone's stories of friends.
Didnt witness anything. But i was turned away at an autoshop because they wouldnt keep any cars overnight anymore. Guy said the cars on his lot were broken into and he had worked on several others that had been broken into. So it did directly affect me cuz I have to fix my own car. heh
Well, if what I've seen with my own eyes counts: I live in Morgan City, 90 miles are so from NOLA and I've what looked like 3 large black guys breaking into a suburban with some sort of small crowbar and hammer. I've seen masses of people hanging outside of convenience stores trying to de-board the windows... MCPD was soon on scene to both isolated situations. It will get worse--much worse. Morgan City is the closest city to the west of New Orleans with power and water (as far as I know.) Things will get terrible all aover LA and TX as these thugs infiltrate into peaceful areas. I feel sorry for BR. It looks like it may be the "new" NOLA...
The only way I see it not happening is if NOLA is rebuilt VERY quickly. These thugs are bitching about being moved from the Superdome to the Astrodome... how do you think they'd feel about staying in BR for a year and THEN having to move back to an extremely partially rebuilt New Orleans... nah ah... no way, IMO
i just moved into my new house in pville, closed on my old house yesterday and got an offer for my current home-I will make over 80K granted I built it but it will be nice to relocate to Dallas. BTR is getting dangerous.
