1. from another board:

I grew up in the 1970s. I watched Bama beat us year after year. They were the fly in the oinment, the monkey in the wrench. No matter how good we were, they were better. Bert Jones, Mike Miley, Brad Davis, Terry Robiskie, Lew Sibley, AJ Duhe, Charles Alexander, Willie Teal, Warren Capone and many others...they all fell to Bama as we cheered them on. Worst part of all, Bama cheated. Bear Bryant was a pure D cheater. Everywhere he went up to Bama got slammed for breaking the rules. He always seemed to skip away in time to avoid the penalties of his crimes. Make no mistake about it, from the time he stole John David Crow off LSU's campus to the time Tommy Wilcox went to Bama, the whole Bama nation was a bunch of cheaters. Some won't like to hear it, but it's true. That has pretty much been proven by their constant run-ins with the NCAA since the untouchable Bear Bryant passed away. Bama cheats. That's what they do. It's how they win. Period. I want nothing more than to go into Tuscaloosa on 12 November and dash their hopes for returning to stolen glory. We need to go into Tuscaloosa the same way they came in to Baton Rouge and beat us so many times and prevented us from greater glory. I want Bama fans to leave the stadium that day HATING LSU. I want them to feel what it's like. I want them to cry about "next year." I want them to spend New Year's Day freezing their asses off in Dallas. I WANT TO BE HATED. I WANT LSU TO RUIN 2005 FOR ALABAMA!

i see no other game but this one standing in the way for a truly successful year and it helps me understand the true hatred by true LSU fans toward Bama.

Bring it, baby shula. the time of reckoning awaits.
  2. Coach Bryant never cheated. He didn't need to. Can't wait for the game in Nov.
  3. Sure, riiiiiiiiiiight ......

Tirk, this could be one of your best posts ever, for truer words were never written. Wouldn't bother me to see LSU stomp Bama, but it also wouldn't bother me to see Auburn be the one either.

  4. Was Coach Bryant ever hauled before the NCAA? No charges, no conviction = no crime.
Still gonna be a great game.
  5. Bear was too drunk to cheat.
  6. I was one of those who grew up in the 70's watching Bama beat the crap out of us time and time again. I would love nothing more than to ruin their season and break up the run they have. Bring it on!

PS: Stupid Phat Phil may have awakened a sleeping giant. It seems to me that Bama is quietly putting together some pretty damn good recruiting classes and is playing decent football with a bunch of really young players. They were devistated by NCAA sanctions and its hard to believe they are doing this good but they are.
  7. That logic would conclude that every unsolved murder, rape, robbery, or child abduction never happened. Lack of proceeding against bama is a repugnant, though laughable argument. The structure of power at that time was so like Tammany Hall in it's heyday. Instead of "Boss Tweed", you had the bahr. Are you actually so unschooled that you believe this drivel that you put forth?
  8. Any post that compares Bama to Tammany Hall deserves some rep.

  9. That's total BS and typical of those drinking crimson koolaide. A captain of one of Bryants teams is a very close friend of mine. He has told me lots of things that went on which you probably wouldn't believe. I'm not taking anything away from Bryant's accomplishments but don't give us this old he didn't cheat crap. Hell bama has been cheating forever. Go read the famous Collier's magazine article written by distinguished bama grad and Pulitzer Prize
winner William Bradford Huie and you see bama was cheating way back in the early 40s. Of course they never put this in the bama library. :hihi:

  10. Shug cheated. Maybe that is where you're getting confused.
