Apologies if this has been posted earlier, but I haven't seen it here thus far. The New York Post reports that the full transcript of the new Bin Laden message, which runs over 18 minutes, is actually good news for President Bush. Here's why: "Officials said that in the 18-minute long tape — of which only six minutes were aired on the al-Jazeera Arab television network in the Middle East on Friday — bin Laden bemoans the recent democratic elections in Afghanistan and the lack of violence involved with it. On the tape, bin Laden also says his terror organization has been hurt by the U.S. military’s unrelenting manhunt for him and his cohorts on the Afghan-Pakistani border. A portion of the left-out footage includes a tirade aimed at President Bush and his father, former President George H.W. Bush, claiming the war in Iraq is purely over oil." In other words, President Bush's War on Terror has severely impacted the Taliban and Al-Qaida's ability to launch terrorist attacks against U.S. soil or U.S. interests abroad and has crippled their military capabilities on the ground in Afghanistan, so much so that Bin Laden himself is whining about it now. Oh, he shows, at many moments, his raw, seething hatred of President Bush and his father. Hmmmmmm.... But you probably won't ever get to see the other 12 minutes. Al-Jazeera has only shown the six minutes of the tape that they perceive as damaging to President Bush, and most U.S. media is just acting as an echo chamber. Big Media, if you have any sort of integrity at all, you will make the full tape available to all who wish to see it.
