The solutin for the Huskers of course is none other than Trev Alberts. Wouldn't that be nice ? I'd love to see it and listen to him talk his team into a losing season.
It's not all because they fired a coach that's averaged 9 wins a year. Ohio State fired Earle Bruce for winning 9 games a year and they got a pretty good replacement in John Cooper (Michigan week aside), followed by Jim Tressle. No, it's these high expectations and a declining ability to meet them that is the lethal combo that all outside of Huskerland see so clearly.
They just mentioned Tom Osborne as possibly coming back.....as least that's what I heard.....can't remember if it was ESPN.
I recall a school firing a pretty successful coach named Charles McClendon ... it took us 20 years to recover from it. Guess it happens all too often....
Waiting for Tubberville or Francione to appear in Lincoln ;p Callahan isnt that bad of a coach, he just isnt a good fit with the thugs in Oakland, and probably would be a good college coach. Hell if Pete Carroll can be successful in college(he was pitiful as a pro coach) then Callahan(who took the Raiders to Superbowl last year) might do well too. Of course, I hope he fails miserably, except for when he plays Texas ;p
True, but as with a USC-LSU matchup that won't take place, we'll never really know if Bo Rein could have prevented that falloff from happening.
