Cowboys asst Zimmer turned down the job. That is choice #4 gone...who is the 5th option?

Their AD should get the ax for this whole fiasco. Be happy we have such a great situation here at LSU.

    :D

At this rate, they're going to be getting out the shovels and bringing Bob Devaney back.

We've already seen Notre Dame and Alabama crumble...and deaths come in threes. I think we're watching the death of the Nebraska program.

I posted this in another thread:

Question is, does anyone view the Nebraska job as a top tier one anymore? I think we may have seen the last of the Huskers as a consistent player on the National scene. There have been many stories recently highlighting the fact that Neb.'s success had always been due to the large number of players with athletic ability, but not "skill" type players. As the college ranks become more and more a minor league for the NFL, the truly talented players are going to look for a program and coach who can help them make the jump to the pros. Being another "anonymous" Cornhusker is not going to be an attractive option. To be sure, their tradition and history wll attract a number of regional players, and the team will still make bowl appearances, but I think they will be hard pressed to compete for even the Big 12 title. This is especially true as long as Stoops and Snyder remain in place, and if Texas can get rid of Brown and hire someone who can coach talent. If Nebraska does hire Nutt, this process of decline will simply be accelerated.

I do believe we are witnessing the fall of the Cornhuskers as a perennial power.

Obviously I wrote this before Nutt declined.

I have heard David Cutcliff as well.................

Nobody wants this job, Nebraska is tainted thanks to their AD. Maybe Coach Tom will come back for a year until they get a new AD and coach. There is no way the AD survives this fiasco unscathed.

reportedly Dick Vermiel, then Vermiel's Off. Coordinator, Nutt, Zimmer.....

Vermiel was mentioned by one of the networks, then they said he signed an extension to stay in KC.
