While their are many titles and trophies awarded by various organizations for the NC (the AP and the ESPN being the most well known) none is sponsored by, provided by, or recognized by the NCAA.

Circuit City To Sponsor BCS National Trophy


NEW YORK -- Circuit City Stores said Friday it will be the official sponsor of the college football Bowl Championship Series (BCS) national championship trophy that is awarded to the winner of the BCS national championship game each year.

The Circuit City Trophy will be presented on Jan. 3 following the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe. Ariz. Televised on ABC, the BCS title game will feature Ohio State and Miami (Fla.), pending a Miami victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday, Dec. 7. The 37-pound Waterford Crystal football award has been a Bowl game tradition since 1984.

Uh, Golfdude is correct. I dont know what you're trying to prove exactly, but that little excerpt is about the BCS championship trophy, not the NCAA championship trophy. He didnt say there was no BCS trophy.

 

I do believe Golfdude knew exactly what trophy were talking about and what the thread meant.

 

Man, it's gonna be nice. The only time I saw OU play was against Texas A&M and the Sears trophy just happened to be in Norman that day.

ABC did a brief segment with Lynn Swann about the trophy, and I remember thinking how damn beautiful it would look as a permanent resident of Baton Rouge after this season.

I certainly didn't say there wasn't a BCS trophy. The BCS trophy is sponsored by Circut City (see post above).......
