Sound off why you voted what. I voted Miami because they defense is spectacular, but Berlin just wasn't sharp and looked confused out there.
Without a doubt, Auburn is my "over-rated" votee. It's not like they finished the year strong last season, giving the nation a glimpse of greatness--they had an up and down sort of year. Berlin may not be Dorsey, but you don't have to be to be La Tech. He didn't look like a world beater in his Miami debut, but I've seen worse. The real test will come against Florida--and since he left there before last season, you can bet he'll be gunning for them. If there is any game one should be prepared for, it's the one against your former team. Ole Miss barely beat Vandy...true. But, honestly, other than Eli, name one other difference maker on the Rebel roster?? They have average WR's that look all that much better because of WHO is throwing them the ball. It's not like the Ole Miss WR's could walk on over to many other SEC schools and start--not that they're not "starter material"--but, for instance, would you see any of them in our starting lineup ahead of Henderson or Clayton? I think not. It's obvious USC is still very much in their downward spiral from last season. They just so happened to pick up a win against an opponent that hasn't won more than 3 games in a season in God-knows-how-long. Had this been the first game for Carolina following an 8-4 or 9-5 season, then, yeah, I would say there would be cause to claim them as being "over-rated". But, bottom line is that USC isn't very good and hasn't been very good for the last 2 years. Va. Tech gave up 28 points...Which, true, for them, that's a lot. But UCF isn't ULL and I've seen Tech personally last season in which they allowed 24 points to Boston College--and should have lost had it not been for a controversial call. But, Tech isn't the undefeated team that Michael Vick led to the Championship game against FSU a few years ago. They lost to Pitt last season and they'll probably finish no higher than 2nd in the Big East--possibly even 3rd (behind Pitt) this season. They're all offense and an above average (at best) defense. That's just my take....I'll step down from the soap box now
Auburn WAS the most overrated but after Saturday they are no longer overrated. Kansas State takes the title from them. Is Miami overrated. Brock Berlin might be overrated but with players like Gore and Winslow and a great defense they are still a very good team. Virginia Tech is rated a little higher than I would have ranked them but they are another real good team. You can't call Ole Miss overrated because they were never rated very high in the first place other than the hype for Eli Manning. Same thing for South Carolina. Never highly rated but with no hyped up superstar.
Auburn was overrated relative to all the hype. They are still a good football team, they are just back on earth now.
How could Ole-Miss be over-rated? They havent been picked to win anythiung or talked about at all. You must mean Eli Manning is over rated not Ole-Miss. I think Eli is over rate dbut i still think he is a great QB.
