The way the LSU offense bounced right back with that quick impressive TD drive after UofO scored the go ahead TD very much reminds me of the character of the championship team in the recent past. :thumb:That also pretty much set the tone for the rest of the game. Hope this team's offense maintain that character and continues to improve. It was also a bit funny to me at the time that LSU offense is giving the U of O defense a taste of their own medicine, with a relatively quick paced and relentless attack.
The LSU offense had to practice quick tempo in preparing our defense for Oregon. Not sure if you read the article that talked about that. Two offenses were set up in practice. One would execute a play, then run off and then the 2nd offense would hurry up and run a no huddle play. They kept rotating them out, getting our D ready to face the relentless pressure that Oregon was going to try to put on us. So our offense in essence got prepped to run it themselves. It was a pretty crafty maneuver on Les' part.
That was the drive that changed the game as we had NO offense before it but we always seem to respond well in big games when we give up a TD.
Yes, I did know that they had practiced that way. But it was "refreshing" that they turned up the juice after the Oregon TD both in intensity of play and change of attack strategy.
It was a thing of beauty the way we responded to that 19 play drive. The no huddle was just gravy. A little bit of their own medicine. They were clearly thrown off by it. Well done Les. Well done Lee. Well done Tigers.
