Some won't believe this: The last time I was in Tiger stadium was when we played Miami with Jimmy Johnson on the sidelines.............. They beat us 44-3 in the swirling wind and rain. I stayed there until the game was over...................... We kicked a field goal in the end to keep them from shutting us out. How time Flies.......................................... It really doesn't seem that long ago but the older I get the faster time flies. I went to the Kentucky game at the PMAC in 2000 when we beat them and I went to a couple baseball games in 1999 and 2000. I seem to always go to Louisiana to visit in the winter and spring. To get away from the Colorado winter...................... I'm hoping to make a football game next year but I think there's nothing quite like watching a football game on tv, you don't ever miss anything that way. and then the convience of the fridge. Geaux Tigers say Neaux to the Sooners
My last game was when Florida beat us about 8-10 years ago. One of those hideous 11:00 a.m. kickoffs. Eddie Kennison ran a punt back that was called back by a clip. Miserable game. It was two years before we beat them when they were ranked #1. I saw nearly every game between 1973 (freshman year) and when I moved to Virginia in 1987. Was a season ticket holder in the north end zone. At first I was on row one, right behind the old hedges looking right down the hashmark on the "Billy Cannon side" of the field. Then I moved my tickets up to the first walkway and ended up sitting next to the late (I presume) "Big Red" and the "Bengal Bard." That was an experience. I have gone to the Kentucky game in Lexington every year and was fortunate to witness the "Bluegrass Miracle." So for everyone who is able to go to games in Tiger Stadium every year, treat them as precious things. I know there is no question that you do!
was the arkansas game this year...south endzone...damn cold with that wind coming hard from the north. worth every minute
That basketball game was the first game my son went to. He liked it but said it was TOO LOUD. I went to every game this year except Ark. I'm a marshall and work the student section so I get paid to go to the games.
Last time I was in Tiger Stadium was for the ULM game, soaking wet, but having a blast. I brought my two young cousins (11 - 13) who are from a split school family. Mississippi St. and LSU, the youngest loves LSU and the oldest loves Mississippi St. The greatest thing I could have heard came out of the 13 year olds mouth. As we were walking up to the stadium I told them, "Guys, you are about to walk into the greatest place on earth." As we walked up the ramps and got to our section I let the kids walk in front of me. As the oldest walked into the open and saw the field and the rest of the stadium, I heard him say, "Holy sh*t". That was the first time they'd ever been in Tiger Stadium, and I know they'll remember it for the rest of their lives.
Could not wait to pay the Hogs back after that fluke win from last year. We hung 55, but could have been 75 had Nick wanted to.
Last game was the Sugar Bowl. Last time in Tiger Stadium was Spurrier's last game there. I plan to go to the home opener next year.
Keep trying to make all you can. Still nothing like Tiger Stadium!!! We now live in Houston but have had North End tickets since 1969. Still able to make most of them, and love every minute. When we lived in Louisiana, for a few years, were able to make all at home and away. The long wait for this year has been well worth sitting through some of those "down years". Goooooo!!!! By the way, the sitting with our backs to that north wind has been a blessing.
Look for me next time you are there...I am usually right in front of sec. 33/34 making sure students are not having any fun.
Last time at tiger stadium...hmmm...1995 Auburn/LSU game. Don't remember much of the game...we got beat like a drum to the tune of something like 44-7??? (Got pretty drunk, so don't remember the details.) I do remember getting to the stadium and walking through the student section with my buddy looking for a place to sit. We saw 4 rows completely empty, so we went up there. After being there for about a minute, we smelled something foul. We found out why nobody was sitting there....somebody "tailgated" a little too hard and lost their etouffee in the row right in front of us. We quickly found another place to sit before we became "casualties" and lost our etouffee, too.
