Who do you think was responsible and why?

    Why the Warren Commision Coverup?

Will it ever be solved for sure?

I think it was a conspiracy between the Cia and Mob who were tied in with each other at the time. The Kennedy's using the Mob to get elected then turning on them. With the ties between them the CIA had the people to co-ordinate the plan.

They set up Oswald as the Patsy then killed him to keep his mouth shut.

The Warren Commission wanted the country to have a person to blame and knew that if it was ever traced to operatives in the Government that it would leave this country in total chaos. At a time in the cold war when the world was not a safe place to be.

I dont think that we will ever know the true story. Time and the death of people with the knowledge will never allow us to know the real story.

I have always wondered to myself what would have happenned if Oswald would have lived?

Someone should do a movie with the premise that he did and the story comes out. That would be sort of interesting if it was based on true events.

    The Kennedy Assasination

I found a damn good site for finding some good current thought on the assasination. It debunks a lot of bad theories and disinformation. And it has good links to conspiracy sites where you can check out the latest looney ideas. A good bibliography of the essential assasination books, too.

    The Kennedy Assasination

This is an interesting tidbit from the site:

So, who has a serious theory about the assasination?

I've been to the 6th floor museum 3 times and walked around Dealey Plaza, but I've never gotten too involved in the conspiracy theory. I always assumed it was the Cubans in retribution for the Bay of Pigs fiasco. I don't think Oswald could have pulled off that feat with the antique rifle he was alleged to have used.

I was never able to get down to the Museum. I was transferred out of Dallas just after it opened and never got down there. When i visit my brother sometime i am going to have to go down there.

What was your opinion of the museum. Is it worth the effort?

Well, I've been three times. What does that tell you.

It's very interesting and informative. It touches on the conspiracy theory but, more than that, it brings you back to that time and place. I think it's very well done. The corner where Oswald was alleged to have fired the shots is glassed off, but it's spooky being there.

One thing that always amazes me is how narrow the street is at the spot of the assasination. Man, those specators were right on top of the motorcade.

One thing you have to admit is the people or person that did do it picked a good place. There is opportunity from crossfire and echoes. Access from all angles. I still cant believe with the unrest in Dallas at the time he was riding in an open vehicle where anyone in a high rise bldg had a clear shot.

It was also at the end of where the parade route was so there were not as many people there. Not as much chance of killing bystanders. Definatly not a spur of the moment plan. It had been well thought out.

The most interesting theory that I've read is that Kennedy's own Secret Service bodyguards accidentally shot him while reacting to Oswalds fire which mostly missed. It certainly would explain all of the government coverups that would have to have happened for most of the conspiracy theories to have worked. There may not have been an assasination conspriracy after all, but a conspiracy to cover-up an accidental fatal shooting by pinning it on a real assassin who actually only wounded Kennedy and the Governor. The book "Mortal Error" is a convincing read and nobody has really shot it down yet.

I think one of the most interesting is that the Military Industrial complex Killed Kennedy because they wanted to have their war and Kennedy may have not escalated the U.S. involvement as much as they wanted.

Then there is the Cuba retaliation for the Bay of Pigs.

Then there is the thought that people against the civil rights movement the Kennedy's were pursuing. This one doesnt get as much press but it is just as likely.

Like i think you said Red their were plenty of people in the south that were not Kennedy fans based on his civil rights view.

Also, the motorcade was coming out of a 100 degree turn which slowed it considerably.

Edit: Now that I think about it, that was the perfect spot which makes it more than a little coincidental that had Oswald been acting alone, he just happened to work at the Book Depository. How conveeeeeeeennnnnnient!
