im glad jr is lsu's qb, but all this love is too much. my god, was he even pressured more than once? let him do it in a real game before you even think about him getting the heisman. there were a few nice passes though. (are we sure he meant to hit dickson on the long one?)
Yes, he was pressured a few times, made some great scrambles and threw beautifully on the move. Yes, his pass to Dickson was a bit lucky but it was right on the money, although he was throwing it to Davis. And why is all of this love so wrong, the guy deserves it. Doesn't matter who it was against, how much time he had, how open his WR's were, etc. 16.4 yards per attempt is a fantastic number, not a very good one.
Well, he was sacked twice and broke tackles on several plays, completing a 60-yard pass on one. . . while scrambling.
He deserves a lot of love considering all the hate he got from so many of our outstanding fans after the Auburn game.
Not to steal the thunder, that pass by Conner while being sacked by Landry (i think) was pretty impressive. J-Mar needs the love... I think he is the best QB in the SEC by far!
I tell ya what I noticed watching the Miss St game. LSU still struggling on getting the running game established as they did at AU. BUT the difference is JR getting the ball in the air and doing it with percision! Why didn't they do that to AU?? I understand a running game has to be established to keep the defense honest. BUT damn! If the pass is putting numbers on the board and the quarterback can throw a 60 yard TD while in the air and do it accurately! STICK WITH IT! Hell! Maybe they'll go for defending the pass and then run the ball up their arse when not expecting! I don't know, all I know is that watching JR on TV gives him no justice. You gotta see this guy in person. He is amazing! What he does is effortless. If he stays at LSU next year, he'll be hyped for the Heismen. IMO
This is what I love about fans. The pass rush can't touch him and it's the competition. The running game can't get going and it's the OL. The truth is somewhere in between.
He did look great, much better this outing than against AU. He was on in this game, in all aspects. of course the level of competition may have allot to do with it. BUT i hope that isn't it. I want to think he will be this way from here forward. He had better touch on the ball, he seemed to "know" what set the D was going to be in. AND there were no game management issues, ( probably because we were WAY ahead ) Kudos to JR. I hope THIS side of him shows up EVERY week. With him playing this way, I can see us in a major bowl at the end of this season. PS: if he had done this to Auburn, he would definately be in the Hiesman hunt by the end of this season, and we would be #3 team in the polls, oh well coulda woulda shoulda... cant go there, time to move on. He might still be in the Hunt for the big H. keep it up and he will be. I guess I was worried for nothing. I sincerely hope so.
