Why do you even care what our rivalry game is called?? Its called the Iron Bowl, because it was first played in Birmingham and Birmingham, "of course, was built around huge iron ore deposits in Alabama's hill country." http://www.al.com/ironbowl/info.ssf?history/early.html Theres the link if you really care to read it. Good one I like the "Who's your daddy BOWL" Kinda makes sense with all the smack they jar at each other.
It might be irrelevant to you, but that still hasnt kept you from talking about it has it? The Iron Bowl is great even when both teams are having a down year. Everybody still manages to get pumped up for this game. And who really cares what you call it. I know you all dont have a really active in-state rival. But doesnt the winner of the LSU-Arky game get a some kind of boot?? I wouldnt be so fast to dog our rivalry game, when the winner of your border war/rivalry game gets a boot for winning. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!! BEAT BAMA!!
I would have no complaints winning a boot of solid gold. Does the iron bowl have a "trophy"? I really don't know.
