I noticed the dominant theme all through the Sugar Bowl was how all the comentators could agree that the BCS system "is what it is" and that the national champion will be decided tomorrow night. It pisses me off that they have decided to cover their asses this year and stick to the system. It was ok for USC to get away with it, but Auburn better not buck the system. I'm not saying Tubberville should raise the Sugar Bowl trophy over his head and declare a national championship. I thought that was a classless act by Pete Carroll last year- USC (and Auburn for that matter) is contractually bound to the BCS system. Shame on Carroll for deciding to ignore it when it didn't go his way. But it just bothers me that we get to be "co-national champions" (whatever that means) and OU/USC gets it "undisputed".
Agreed, I hope to god AU does just what Pete Carroll and Usuck did last year. What comes around goes around as far as I'm concerned.
What they are saying is that if USC wins then they are NC. If OU wins big then they are NC. If AU had run away with the game tonight and the game tomorrow was close with a OU win then there would be split NC. USC gets free ride as long as they win. \ I've heard this repeated time and time again.
It was classless, but would you expect anything less of his whiny ass. Even Tubby wasn't as classless and that's saying alot. Another thing that bothered me was how they explained why AU weak non-conference schedule (BG dropped out to play OU and they were stuck having to pick up La-Monroe). Remember the Marshall/LSU game from last year that never happened?
